This past weekend my wife and I visited Reliable Toyota to just look at a Highlander for her. I was not optimistic about trading here, as I had been a vendor for them back in the 90's. Under previous management, there was always an air of "being on guard". Well, a salesman named Jack Dugger changed all that! I would never have conceived of spending a dime at this store, but Jack, and also Austin in the finance department, created an entirely new perception of the place! Jack was thoroughly likeable, knowledgeable, LISTENS, and treated us with respect. It was almost like buying a vehicle from a friend, well, he is a friend now. This was also true of Austin. Thank you guys for changing my mind about this store! More

I decided I wanted an Avalon, and Anthony worked out all the details encountered while I bought two cars! I bought the basic model Avalon and then decided I wanted the premium model. Although I was asked to rate this review at all five stars, I prefer honesty and transparency -- so I'll rate it honestly and not as asked. That said, Michele and Reliable are fantastic to work with in stars, I prefer honesty and transparency -- so I'll rate it honestly and not as asked. That said, Michele and Reliable are fantastic to work with in terms of communication, interaction, and engagement. Their service and customer oriented approach is genuinely good. The only hang ups I had while shopping with Toyota was on two fronts. I approached the dealer over a web application for a vehicle trade. This is not the smartest approach to negotiating a sale, mind you. Although I knew the online quote wasn't 100% accurate, nor something the dealer can guarantee to honor, it did set me up with unrealistic expectations. While at the dealer, my vehicle was inspected and the appraised value was exceptionally low, and far lower than sight unseen offers from other dealers. I personally believe the low bid was presented to me as a customer, and not on the value of my vehicle (as I was complimented by another sales team member on my vehicle) - I'm in an odd position at the moment, so I was aware of this while there, but unfortunately not pleased with the offer. The second hang up I had was the presentation of price for the 3 vehicles I had inquired about. One car was presented $1000 lower than advertised; interesting (this is the one they wanted me to buy and likely padded the price by depreciating my trade -- ie lower the price on the one they want to sell, but keep the price the same in theory by offering me less for my trade). The second car was quoted the same as the first, and a price I was willing to agree to, including the low offer on my trade - this was a mistake by their finance manager and the offer was rescinded and the price was corrected to $2000 greater than what was listed on the sticker and website (I later confirmed this when the dealership was closed and found the car had sold at the original quoted price of sub $20k. The third quote, was spot on to what I was originally quoted and what was on the website. Anyhow, the disparity in misquotes and miscommunication as a result turned me off from purchasing/trading same day, and at the time, I was certainly ready to make that happen. I moved on and recalculated my plans. Ultimately I received a few calls from the sales management team, was offered more for my trade, which was in fact tempting, but in the end I still had better offers elsewhere and opted to bide my time and acquire a different vehicle from a different dealer. All said, the staff are attentive and extremely courteous - I enjoyed my time there. The process and lack of transparency on the numbers side of things... it felt questionable at best and potentially shady - so I opted not to buy in the end. Take my review for what you will, but know they're an okay bunch. =] More
