I brought my 2020 C8 Corvette, and for a standard oil change. Well, in the service department on the Rotary lift an outside vendor doing preventative maintenance work on the Lift , while my vehicle was o change. Well, in the service department on the Rotary lift an outside vendor doing preventative maintenance work on the Lift , while my vehicle was on the lift started to rock the vertical Frame work to look for looseness and to shim the base if necessary. This work should not have been done at all with any vehicle on the lift, whether in the air or on the ground. I mentioned it to one of the service managers as they were walking through, and he said he would mention it to the tech. I felt like he blew me off as he continued to walk into the office rather than back 20 feet to where this was happening. In fact, he walked right by the Tech completely oblivious. If something had Fallen off the lift and onto my vehicle or anybody else’s vehicle for that matter, it would’ve caused the dealership a couple of thousand Dollars in paint repairs. ( Of course that’s nothing for a dealership) It would have been painful for me as the owner of a mint condition 2020 C8 Corvette with 2500 miles on it. The tech should know better than to do any repairs to that type of equipment, but really the service manager should Educate the vendors as to why doing repairs like that is not a good idea. More
