Will never bring a vehicle here again My jeep grand Cherokee died on pleasant hill road on Friday, august 2nd 2019. I called roadside service and they believed it to be a serious issue,so My jeep grand Cherokee died on pleasant hill road on Friday, august 2nd 2019. I called roadside service and they believed it to be a serious issue,so I called a tow truck. I was thrilled to see that I was a quarter mile away from Rick Hendrick Jeep and called to check if I could tow my vehicle there. They lady I spoke with said it would not be seen on Friday, but reserved a 7am saturday diagnostic appointment for me. When the car was dropped off at the service department I also confirmed the appointment. I called Saturday afternoon to receive an update and was told that my car hadn't been touched yet and they would call me when it had. Saturday passed and so did Sunday (they are closed on Sundays) I called again Monday morning and was told best case they would look at it that day, worst case Tuesday. What was the point of having an appointment in the first place?! Finally I get a call from a tech named Brett late Monday afternoon informing me that so far the battery had failed its test...the problems could go beyond that but they wouldnt know without replacing the battery. I asked for an estimate of cost, to which Brett informed me it would be around $650....they wanted to sell me a battery for $350, charge $200 for labor and $155 for diagnostic. The diagnostic should have been INCLUDED in the cost since I was having my vehicle serviced with them! I called a buddy to see if the price was as outrageous as i believed it to be, and he was astonished by it. He called up to confirm it and when he asked what kind of labor was needed to hook up a battery, Brett stated that it was incase I needed help re-tuning my radio since the battery had been installed. What!?! Instead of being taken advantage of with those prices, I went to auto zone, bought a TOP OF THE LINE battery for $190, and my buddy and I installed it in the service parking lot ourselves and drove off into the sunset. Moral of the story, DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLES TO RICK HENDRICK IN DULUTH! They will 100% try to take advantage of you and rip you off! Shame on you service department! More
