Knowing my insurance will cover the tow to the nearest dealership I was forced to have it brought to Rick Hendricks. I dropped it off Monday the 24th at 9am, maybe 9:15am. “Debbie” was me service rep. I told her that the car was making clicking sounds and she told me she would take a look at it as soon as possible. she also told me they usually schedule things 3 days in advance but would “most likely” look at it the next day. I call the next day in the afternoon. They hadn’t moved it and I was told “probably tomorrow”. They called me Wednesday saying it could be a few different things but to find out exactly it would cost $658 to drop the oil pan. I asked worst case scenariowhat could it be and I was just told just have the oil pan dropped. (this is normal, they don’t want to say it could be something and have it not be that one thing). After being a little pushy I asked if she could send me a quote on how much an engine would cost (I’m thinking, this is the worst-case scenario and I wanted to have a heads up on the price). 2 days later she told me the engine would cost $7,220 for new or $5,130 for used. I went up to the service center to ask a few more questions to see if I can get a better idea of what's going on with the car and she told me that everything they could find out from the diagnostic. I said, "diagnostic, I though you would just have someone start it up and listen to it, maybe look under the hood?" she said no and informed me that the diagnostic would cost $140. At this point I asked about trade in value. Debbie got me intouch with a woman named Natalie. She asked me if I wanted a quote, I said yes. I filled out some paperwork, shetook my keys, and about 30 min later she handed me an estimate for the Durango. They offered $11,200. I was shocked! That’s WAY more than I thought they would give me. I asked Natalie if this was a legitimate offer, she said the price on the paper is what they would give me. I asked if that was trade in value or cash. She told me it was either. I left and shared the good news to my wife; do we chance the Durango with a used engine or upgrade to a newer car and take the 3K loss in negative equity. Later that same day I called Natalie just to verify. I asked her if any other techs would have to look at the vehicle because I know some dealerships send you a high quote and right before you sell the vehicle the start pointing out all the scratches, stains, bumps etc.…then give you a new price. She said nobody else would look at it. I then asked her again, “is this price what you will give me for the Durango”. She said “yes, we will honor that price”. We decided to go car shopping the next day. I had an appointment with Natalie the next day at 1pm. We got they’re about an hour early so we could walk the lot and look at the ones we saw online the night before. While walking around a man named Roy approached us. We told him we saw a few cars online and we were just walking around seeing the differences. He asked us to come inside and look at the online inventory. As me and my wife sat down, I told him I had an appointment with Natalie at 1. he continues to show us some cars at other locations and Natalie came by and said we were in good hands and Roy can help us out. So…fast forward 2 or 3 days of looking at vehicles at the different Rick Hendrick locations (knowing we wouldn’t get a better offer for the Durango, we knew we wanted to buy form them). We have found the car we want. So, I go up to Roy, and tell him to bring the car from another dealership as we start to fill out paperwork. He gives me the form to fill out to get financed, I tell him that I have my own credit union that I work with and that’s the people I want to go through. He asked me who it is, I say Tinker Federal Credit Union. He tells me that they are one of the many people they look at to give me the best rate. I’m like awesome! That saves me a 30 min phone call. So, I fill out the paperwork. So, when it came to the part about my trade in, I handed him the paper I was given with my $11,200 quote. He walks back to the room with the managers in the back and then comes back. He said that was a sight unseen estimate and a tech would have to look at the vehicle to get a proper estimate. I say that’s xx because Natalie told me not once but twice that it was a legitimate offer. He gets one of the managers from the back and they come up to me. I think the guys name Donny. He tells me that Natalie gave him the paperwork and he was unable to find my car so he filled out a sight unseen quote and gave the paper back to her. AND because the service center is already closed (it was around 7 or 8 pm) and were closed the next day, they would have to get me the new price the day after tomorrow. I was mad. Fast forward, they call me and offer 9,200 for the Durango. OK, still better than I thought but still pissed we decide to get the car we were looking at. So, I go up there, (im going to skip the part about me leaving to go look at one other vehicle from another dealership) they bring the car from the other dealership and we go for 1 last test drive. I was looking over the specs and it said it had a Certified warranty, I think it was 6 years, 60K miles or something like that. I said, “oh, it even comes with a warranty”, Natalie said, “yep” then goes over to the sign and read off the warranty. We started talking about something else then I asked Natalie if it came with the warranty again. She said “that’s what I said didn’t I?” So fast forward to me and my wife filling out paperwork while the car is getting detailed. (all honesty, I made a mistake when the price came out, I thought it was cheaper than It was so I made a big deal about them raising the price, even though they didn’t. But after being lied to so much, I thought they were trying to rip me off. My bad.) we then began to fill out paperwork, i was asked to fill out financing paperwork to find out my APR. I said "i thought you already ran my credit". Roy says "no". I then show him the email i got from Credit Carma stating that they already ran my credit 2 days prior. Roy says oh, I guess we did, or something along those lines. he then asked me to fill out the paperwork giving them permission to check my credit. fast forward 30-45 min. so were sitting down with the finance guy “Bo”. Pronounced “Bow”. I ask him if there is anything, he can do to lower the price, he says talk to Natalie. So, I ask her, “is there anything we can do to get the price down”. She tells me I would have to talk to Bo, I then tell Bo that I asked Natalie and she told me to ask you”. He then tells me that he would have to ask Donny but “were kind of like true car” and they usually don’t discount the price of the cars. He says it’s very rare. I say ok and continue fill out paperwork. He tells me i have a very high apr that i was approved for. I told him that cant be right, my last apr was 1.9, and i ask him what my bank wanted (the one Roy told me they check). He asked who my bank was, i told him TFCU, he then told me thats not one of the banks they check with. I imediatly call me bank. fast forward 20 min. He starts talking about the warranty it comes with which Is different than the one that was on the sticker. He says that warranty is from the other store and it doesn’t carry over. So, for a 10-year 100K mile warranty it would cost roughly $3K extra tied into the loan. I tell him that Natalie told me not once but twice (yet again) that the warranty was included. He tells me its not, I then pull Natalie into the same room and ask her in front of everyone. she tells me "I may have made a mistake" or something along those lines. fast forward 10 min. He then shows me a referral paper that gives $100 to the person who referred you. It had the name of a person I have never met before in my life. I asked if I can put my wife or my mom’s name on it, he laughs and tells me no. so, like a xxxxxxx, I sign it giving (what I can only assume is one of their friends) $100. Fast forward, all paperwork has been signed, we walk outside and the car still isn’t back from detailing. We ask about it, they brought a car around and give Natalie the keys. We walk outside and it’s not my car. They detailed the wrong car. I then go clean out my old car. I’m skipping the part of me going with Natalie to the Durango to get all my stuff out, car seats, paperwork etc. We (Natalie and I) walk around a little bit, my wife heads home in the other vehicle we brought. By this point Natalie is pissed, she wants to go home, obviously. She tells me they usually spend a few hours detailing each car before it comes out and because they were going to rush it that I could come back another day to have it detailed. (I still haven't had it done and doubt she will let me, but ill keep positive until she lies to my yet again) She then starts talking about how pissed Roy was that after I had a car in mind and then looked at other cars and overall how old and inpatient he is. She then talks about how the detailing guys are dumbasses, taking forever and not working. SO, after all this here’s the upfront short and sweet: I was lied to 4 or 5 times about very important things, the service department was polite, but overpriced and took way to long. And they obviously try to swindle paperwork to help out friends by filling out referral papers without your knowledge. My personal thoughts: I don’t think a single person working their lives by, let alone knows, the business mission statement. I am surprised that this business is still afloat and the only reason I think it is because its size and turnover rate. EDIT 1, Oh, almost forgot. Natelie told me she would get the other set of keys from the location it was from. she assured me there were two sets. Well, guess what, she called me about 3 hours ago to let me know they "couldn't find" the other set of keys....so yeah. EDIT 1.1, Natalie emailed me today, shortly after writing this, and told me someone would be in contact with me shortly to get me another key "programed". that's great news. but honestly I doubt it will happen, if it does I will update this survey. EDIT 1.2, i got several voicmails from Natalie (i never check voicemails) asking if i could come pick up the key. So, made an appointment and I recieved the key from Mr. Fuller, who was professional and polite. He told me there was a problem with my drivers license and asked if I could send send him some paperwork. My whole conversation with him took maybe 5 min. Straight to the point, no b.s., here's what I need and how can I help. Wish I could have done business with this guy. Natalie was very apologetic and asked if I would reconsider my review because "i diddnt think i was that bad". I told her I just wrote down facts and didn't think I wrote anything wrong. Honestly, i never thought anyone would read the review and only did because I was asked so many times via email reminders. I'm glad to hear that the company reads and takes reviews seriously. It shows they are always striving to improve. But having someone ask if I could edit the review is embarrassing. If Natelie really wanted to impress me she could have just said "hey, you haven't came in for that detail I promised, when do you plan on coming in?" Thats what i was hopeing for (which i would have denied because its been awhile and i have kids that are great at making messes) but that diddnt happen. That would have made me change the rating of personell. EDIT 2, on the Carfax it said the previous owner was "corporate" I asked Roy what that meant while sitting down with him and he told me it could have been a fleet vehicle or maybe a rental. Well, come to find out, when it fogs in the morning you can see "Hendricks Luxury Customer Service" then a number on the back windshield (where they removed the stickers but the residue got left behind. So I bring this up because, How do you not know your selling your own companies vehicle? More
