Blankenship59, there are other metrics that can determine when brakes need to be replaced other than wear percentage. We do our best to only recommend services that are necessary for the safe operation of a customer's vehicle. Blankenship59, we measured the front brakes on your 2014 Rav4 at 4mm which is much less than 60 percent in our opinion, and more accurate than a round estimation from the other shop. Our records show we advised you the front pads would need replacement soon, but did not make a recommendation for the rear as your review suggests. Additionally, your vehicle has approximately 45k miles and has never had the front brakes replaced at a dealer. Our recommendations on an eight year old vehicle such as brake pad, A/C service, fuel system flush, alignment adjustment, and dead battery replacement are all just suggested to ensure your vehicle operates reliably for your benefit, the choice is up to you.

You mechanic said he measured 4 mm on my front brakes. My other mechanic said he measured 7mm. I have had work done by this garage many times and always had good results. And, they never, never, tried to sell me on things I did not need. Joe
