Service department is going through the motions in my opinion. There is no sense of urgency on the customer’s behalf regarding attention towards trying to get vehicle back to customer as soon as possible opinion. There is no sense of urgency on the customer’s behalf regarding attention towards trying to get vehicle back to customer as soon as possible. I need my truck for work and I voiced that concern while stopping by earlier in the week in person before setting my appointment for Thursday 4-24-25. I was told my vehicle might not be able to be returned to me in one day even if I had dropped at 7am. So I took a half day Thursday 4-24-25 as I had to be at work the morning of that day for on-site meeting in Long Beach and decided to drop off early with a set appointment of 12:30pm in hopes of best case scenario if not busy I would be able to get truck back same day to work some hours Friday. In worst case, I would definitely have vehicle back for Monday. I actually arrived earlier than appointment and checked in at 11:56am. I then waited for about two hours in waiting room expecting some kinda of feed back regarding problem and estimate. But after waiting that long with no one else really in waiting room the service rep (Steve) who had checked me in who I had communications with earlier in the week walked by. He asked me if I had someone coming to pick me up. I had already communicated to Steve how important getting my vehicle back promptly was to me so I figured I would at least have an estimate by now but no. I thought to myself “It doesn’t sound like I’m getting my vehicle back today” so I told him “yeah I guess”. I then arranged for ride home which involved my Son stopping by when he could between college classes and work. My wife works full time so she wasn’t an option. So I’ve missed 4 hours of pay so far which is acceptable as they don’t do repairs on the weekend and it has to be fixed. But now no vehicle for tomorrow Friday 4-25-25 to drive to work so I’m out another 8 hours. The next day Friday 4-25-25, at around 9:20am I reached out on Chevy Text string questioning whether they had a estimate yet or not. At around 9:40am I was told what estimate was going to be and approved work to be performed. Now remember my original “appointment” was 12:30pm the day before. So I had my son drop me off before he went to work which was around 11:30am and I waited. I believe only after other service reps walked past me that word got back to my rep. I believe my rep pressed mechanic as it was very soon after talking with one of other said reps (after he asked why I was waiting so long) that some info started coming through on Chevy Text string referencing when they would finish. I finally got my truck back at 3:40pm after my rep told me in person (I didn’t know you were here). During my wait I watched my vehicle shuffled around in the service bays area almost like it was a second thought and other vehicles were the priority. I watched people in waiting area come and leave one by one around me Friday from 11:30am to 3:40pm and there wasn’t really anyone in waiting room day before from 12:00 to about 3pm yet, I didn’t get an estimate until 9:40am the following morning. Probably seems like I’m rambling at this point but I’m out 12 hours of pay and had to pay over $900.00 for issue. My final two cents is this. After a nice refinance on my part years ago that got my interest very low because of my over 800 credit score this truck is almost paid off. Time for a new vehicle? xxxx I don’t know, but the thoughts of dealing with any Chevy service center not to mention their lack of diesel mechanics (which is often used as excuse) for slow work or not being able to get vehicle back for days doesn’t sound real appealing. I have had many issues with this truck along the way but mostly odd things if you pull records which has lead me to have these experiences over the years. They do have a nice waiting room ( as I know it well) but drink vending machine was broken for the two days I was there. Luckily they had the small bottle waters & coffee to choke down my snacks during my stay, Lol. More
