Hopefully this review will help to avoid others having to go through the kind of ordeal I had to with Riverside Ford's service dept and owner, Terry Tiller. I brought my Ford p/u into Riverside Ford to di go through the kind of ordeal I had to with Riverside Ford's service dept and owner, Terry Tiller. I brought my Ford p/u into Riverside Ford to diagnos a transmission problem. After replacing 3 parts over 3 months they told me I needed a new transmission. After discussion that they would stand behing their work, I approved of the transmission to be replaced. Riverside told me they could not diagnos the problem unless a light on my gearxxxx was on, which is why they couldn't find out what the problem part was. After a new transmission was installed and the problem was not resolved, I asked Riverside Ford to re-install the old transmission and they stated that they could not becuase once the fluid was drained it would not be usable (Steve Bazemore, Service Manager). I later learned this was untrue. Terry Tiller informed me that he would not stand behind the work and would not work on my vehicle because they couldn't fix it. I took my vehicle to AAmco Transmissions and they promptly diagnosed the problem. They Showed me the transmission control module (TCM) output which showed the error codes. A Ford tool, standard in any Ford service dept. downloads the TCM codes, thus there was no reason to have to have a light on the gearshift lever on in order to find the problem. AAmco replaced the transmission range sensor (Riverside Ford had installed the bad sensor back on the new transmission). The transmission now operates perfectly. 1day, under $150.00, fixed. Riverside Ford charged me over $3k and would not refund a dime. Yes, I could take them to small claims and probably mop up the floor with them. They are not worth my time. Through circles of friends I have heard nothing but similar experinces with Riverside Ford. Advise: Do not have a vehicle serviced at Riverside Ford. I haven't purchased a vehicle there so I cannot speak from experience however I would hesitate to purchase a vehilce from someone who is dishonest. More
