I knew what I wanted going into the dealership and ironically enough they had a vehicle that fit my guidelines. Gary Bolduc did an exceptional job as a sales person, asking appropriate questions related to what I had explained I wanted. Skipping through all the paper work which went smooth ( why wouldnt it, a car is being sold) everything went well picked up the car later that afternoon and it was clean and ready to drive off the lot and was given a minimal dealership warranty, (2000 Miles) first month was good no issues 2nd month good, 3rd month approaching the 2000th mile the check engine light came on, brought it to dealer said it was low on oil topped it off, reset computer and was good to go. 5 months from then and less than 3 thousand miles later on my way back to the dealership from work because of the engine oil and check engine light being on, my car lay dead on the side of the road. 2007 Subaru Outback wagon. Got towed to dealership and come to find out I have a blown motor. After the team of mechanics look at it they tell me I have two choice- I spend 5,000.00 and buy the only motor they can find or I can get a new car. I chose to get a new car and have them pay off the Subaru which had less than 100K miles on it mind you. Here is what they did, put me in a 2006 Audi, higher insurance, more miles, and also a higher payment - I was basically stuck with this as they said this was my only option. Sales Manager JT, helped Gary finish all the paperwork, and again was off and running. 3 weeks after purchasing this had issues with the automatic window on the passenger side, which was a $300 charge, Brought it elsewhere and was charged half this. I am a mid thirtys male with little experience in car buying - If I was a more educated, more experienced consumer, my car buying experience would not have been the same and I am sure you can all agree. How do you have your engine blow in a car that is 8 months old, maintained as scheduled, and oil changed twice within the recommended 3000 miles with under 100k miles on a Subaru mind you - and then get put into a more expensive car as their doing me a favor? Am I missing something. Be weary friends! More
Steve knew of a TSB that had been released from VWoA the day before I called that extended the warranty of an emissions part, he was aware this was a common replacement part and quote me around $700 two mon day before I called that extended the warranty of an emissions part, he was aware this was a common replacement part and quote me around $700 two months ago to replace it. He was willing to schedule my appointment that week to replace the part under warranty. I was able to drop off the car and pick it up that afternoon hassle free. Dealerships shouldn't be about fancy corporate faces staying on the leading end of fads and style. I want a dealership that invests time and energy into doing what they are there for knowledgable service, quality work, and the attention to detail to the job correct the first time. I wish the new ownership all the best, and as long as they have a strong service department I'll be back. More
