My recent experience at Rod Hatfield has me wondering how they are even still in business. The service department is the worst group of people (except for Jamaal in the oil change department) I believe I hav they are even still in business. The service department is the worst group of people (except for Jamaal in the oil change department) I believe I have ever dealt with. They coded my invoice incorrectly, refused to change it even after filing a complaint with the BBB, thus creating an issue with insurance reimbursement. So, lesson learned, NEVER do business with Rod Hatfield. More

Took 9 weeks to replace a shifter cable and charged $1250. We had to constantly call to get info and updates. Dealership was less than forthcoming. Neither manager, Rylan or Shane did what they said to $1250. We had to constantly call to get info and updates. Dealership was less than forthcoming. Neither manager, Rylan or Shane did what they said to reach out to us. When I picked up the car they didn’t even bother to put the center console back together. This dealership has the worst service department I have dealt with in Lexington. They could care less about customer service or the work they do. More
If you own a Chevrolet Volt with the Shift to Park issue, do not bring it to this dealership. They will not follow the service bulletin for the issue and will try to make you pay for the service out of pocke do not bring it to this dealership. They will not follow the service bulletin for the issue and will try to make you pay for the service out of pocket instead of under the Voltec warranty. I unfortunately brought my car in for the issue since I thought there was no way they couldn't screw this up. After 3 weeks of misinformation and having to educate their staff, they still refused to follow the service bulletin. I then was forced to pay the diagnostic fee and do the warranty service myself. It only took 30 minutes and $20 but I no longer had the issue or the code they used as justification to avoid doing the correct repair. The level of service provided raises either incompetence or ethical concerns since 5 minutes of inspection would have verified my issue correctly. On top of all this, when I dropped my car off for repair, I notified Brian that my tire had a slow leak and needed patched. Nothing was noted in the service order about the leak. After the service department manager again provided more misinformation to me about my issue, they had to then go put air into the tire in order to drive over to me. After 2 bad experiences in a row with this dealership and warranty repairs, I've decided I no longer want to own a car that requires this dealership to provide warranty repairs on and we've moved on. DO NOT go here to get your car serviced for any reason. While the people there are decent blue-collar workers. They DO NOT know how to diagnose or fix cars at all. Please avoid this place at all costs. You While the people there are decent blue-collar workers. They DO NOT know how to diagnose or fix cars at all. Please avoid this place at all costs. While traveling through Kentucky pulling a fifth wheel RV with a Silverado HD 2500, the engine started missing and gave an emissions error warning. I called Rod Hatfield explaining the issue and got an immed with a Silverado HD 2500, the engine started missing and gave an emissions error warning. I called Rod Hatfield explaining the issue and got an immediate service appointment. Upon arrival, I was met by Shane Mullins (service advisor) who worked to get my vehicle issue quickly diagnosed. They were then able to replace a fuel injector and get me back on the road in less than 4 hours under warranty. Very impressed with Rod Hatfield Chevrolet and Shane Mullins for a job well done. More
My wife and I have been very fortunate to be working with Brian in the service department. The issue with our car was extensive, but Brian kept us informed on a regular basis what was required to get the car Brian in the service department. The issue with our car was extensive, but Brian kept us informed on a regular basis what was required to get the car repaired. He also played a critical part in getting the company we had our extended service contract with to cover and pay what was agreed upon in the repair quote. We are extremely appreciative for his help throughout this process. More
Took vehicle in for an oil change. The mechanic left oil and scratches on my fender. Left oily hand prints on driver door panel. Very unprofessional. I purchased new rotors and brake pads. I was never given any "options" just given a price tag. I was told my brakes had less than 30% life to them. Plus they were beginning to squeal. So I I was never given any "options" just given a price tag. I was told my brakes had less than 30% life to them. Plus they were beginning to squeal. So I went and paid for them to be ordered. After waiting months, they were finally replaced. Within weeks, I noticed the squeal sound was still present. I ignored it thinking they needed time to "work in". At an oil change (and approximately 12 months from initial install)--I commented to the technician that my brakes still made noise when applying the brake. I was told maybe I got a bad set but they were still under warranty and I could order replacements. So--we did. Replacements came in and I was excited to finally be noise free. I was highly mistaken. Not only do my brakes still make noises when I stop...they are 100x worse and death defining squeal. It's EMBARRASSING how loud they are. They also had a hard grinding to them. I let weeks pass and went back in to the dealership. Where I was told it was all normal because I purchased "cheap" products. That there was nothing they could do. First of all, I was never given options on which products to purchase. Just given a price. Secondly, every time they have suggested something, I followed through and ultimately have made my problem significantly worse. Anyone that hears my car now asks me have I had my brakes checked recently....then I have to tell them they're technically "new". The service manager on duty advised that I wear my brakes down as much as possible and them come back in and buy the nicer ones. I've never dealt with something so ridiculous. I don't have money to just go buy different brakes because these sound like someone is screaming out on their death bed. PLUS---there are many cars on the road, I'm sure with the "cheaper brand" and no one sounds like my car when it's coming to a stop. My suggestion is that if you need service on your vehicle, you go absolutely anywhere else. I also went in--under warranty--- with my stabilitrak error code coming on and they said "we don't know". I now just deal with the error code coming on every single day. I'm curious if it's related to my poor brake job. Stay away. More
