We came to the dealership with very simple purpose - to buy new car, Honda Pilot 2013. We have no financial problem - high credit score, high income, clear history, more than $10 000 down payment... For no any reason but completely ineffective work of the dealership - they made all mistakes what you can imagine and several what you can't. They started with mixed up our names. That was the first thing they did. They did that just to show us what they could do, and to get us interested. And they made all paperwork with wrong names and only did realize it when it was a time for the final signatures. They started from beginning and this time mixed up our job positions and salaries. And they made all paperwork with it and... you already know how this story plays out, do you?... 6 times. They repeated it six times and make us wait " just-a-minute"... and for another 5 minutes... and for another 15 minutes... and for "may be half an hour".... And finally, as I said, it takes 9 hours - from 9:20 A.M. to 6:40 P.M. They was really friendly. And nice. BUT... Never again. More

I bought a Honda Fit from these guys and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Marcus was friendly and very informative and Phil took a lot of time helping me out and answering any questions I ha be happier with the experience. The experience I had at Shadyside Honda was by far the best I've ever recieved when purchasing a car. I was shopping for a new car and they treated me the best out of the dealers I visited. He listened to what I was looking for and took me just to those cars. He didn't try and "oversell" me or waste my time with stuff I wasn't interested in. I decided to purchase a 2010 Accord that day after he had answered all my questions and we came to what I thought was a fair deal. Excellent experience. Would recommend to a friend More

My experience at Shadyside Honda was great and like no other that I have experienced before. I was referred there by several of my co-workers, who have purchased cars there. I was specifically told to ask for Marcus Williams when I arrived at the dealership. He was the most courteous and well-dressed young salesman that I have ever interacted with. Even though I was very indecisive, he had a lot of patience with me and answered all my questions. He knew a lot about the vehicles and he helped me pick the perfect car that fit me and my budget. Needless to say, all of my friends, family and I will all be purchasing all of our future vehicles from Marcus Williams. The manager Phil Oermann was very welcoming and polite. Edie Cardamone, in finance, is the sweetest lady I ever met. She was polite, knowledgeable, and speedy with the paperwork. I will recommend this dealership to anyone who is interested in purchasing a new or used vehicle. Just ask for Marcus Williams and tell him Carlotta sent you!! More

I read that this dealer has the most awful reviews but I decided to go ahead with them as they are close to my house and going back and forth is convenient. I am a student and tried to purchase a new car and after a long time negotiated for a good price. I wanted to finance the car and they made me do a credit check which was the next step. Who makes customers pay 500 dollars for a credit check. Shadyside honda does ask you for that otherwise they won't do a credit check. So with no other opinion and time constraint. I went ahead and paid 500 dollars filled the form which required 3 references and my ssn no. I was waiting to hear back from them and two days later they tell me to send a copy of ssn visa pay stub and , 8 references. I was traveling so I email them a copy of all of these and also mentioned 8 references is a bit too much. I am an international student and my f1 expires in 2014 but my I 20 is for a longer period. They refused to finance me that too after a week. Marcus did not give me a valid explanation and told me that his finance manager will get back to me and it took her 3 days to get back to me. When i asked for the deposit I was told to come in their office when I refused and after calling them repeatedly I got it back. They were not even answering my phones for my own deposit. I will not recommend this dealer to anyone. More

I recently bought a used car at Shadyside Honda. I felt I saw through the pitches and knew what I wanted. Part of what I wanted was a warranty on a used car, which I understand is pretty commonplace. After voicing this desire, the salesman said he had negotiated a warranty with his manager and that I would not be responsible for any mechanical failures in the car in the first 3 months. After 1 month, the throw-out bearing in the car went bad, causing the need to replace the transmission. Unfortunately, at this point I was told this was a 'wear' item and that the warranty I was sold was only a warranty on the engine. I was told to have the car towed 25 miles to their service center where I would have been charged hundreds more for repairs of a part they already knew was not covered. Normally I would assume the blame for not thoroughly reading and understanding all of the details of my purchase, but after the way I was sold on this warranty and car I feel treated immorally. I will never return to this location and would never recommend them to anyone. More

We purchased a used van with less than 60,000 miles on it from this dealership, paying cash. When after less than a year of driving it the engine died, inspite of regular oil changes and maintenance. I called the dealership hoping they would be willing to either assist us in repairing the vehicle or more likely offer us a decent deal on another van. I did not demand they replace or repair the vehicle at any point. However, from the moment we spoke to them they were so unhelpful as to be hostile. I was told I was being unreasonable when I had yet to ask them to do anything at all. I was asked which salesperson I worked with, and finding out that he was no longer employed at this dealership (gone on to other ventures, I believe was the exact phrase), was told there was no one else who could help me. It was not until I said I would be reporting my experience online that he was willing to do anything at all to help us. I asked specifically if they would help us get into another vehicle and was told the only vans available were 2 new Hondas. I then asked him to look for another van that would be suitable for a family and he said he would (and as this dealership is affiliated with several other dealerships in the area, I believe Cochran Motors but am not sure about that), which a simple online search would turn up other vehicles, and would call me back by that evening. There has been no return phone call. My experience with this dealership is they do not fully inspect used cars they sell and once their commission is in their pocket they couldn't care less about their customers. You should be aware of this if you purchase a vehicle from them. We will not be going back. More

Pretty bad. My own mechanic diagnosed my 1998 Honda stalling probably because of the bad ignition switch. The Honda Civics did have a recall of this. My recall had been taken care of before I bought th stalling probably because of the bad ignition switch. The Honda Civics did have a recall of this. My recall had been taken care of before I bought the car in '04 but that recall is warranted. The service guy (Jim) said this but that it would be looked over. They called me to tell me it was the relay switch and something about the engine block. This was all supposed to total something slightly higher than $600. I told them to do the relay because that was the only possible thing that could have called the stalling and I would have my own mechanic take care of those things later. I needed to take a long trip a couple of weekends later. This car would stall mostly on long trips but also in hot, sunny weather. Pretty soon after they did the relay it would stall again. I was over a barrel (as the expression goes) and at this point I needed to have them do all this stuff. (Call me gullible and naive). I was told that it needed a tune up to the sound of $300. This was all peripheral to the stalling. When they were done with the car it was just over $1200. This was on a '98 car; do you see how ridiculous this is? Apparently both sides of the engine block needed to be redone (though they didn't bother to tell me this for my approval). I got the car back and went on the long trip. It stalled twice on the way and once on the way back. I was always worried it would stop running. It has stalled since coming back as well. They won't bother to replace a bad ignition switch -- lying to me in the process -- because they don't want to bother with dealing with a warranty that they're not going to make any money on. More
