Extremely Disappointed with My Ioniq 5 Purchase Experience I recently purchased an Ioniq 5 through Marhofer Cuyahoga Falls, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish. Despite compl Experience I recently purchased an Ioniq 5 through Marhofer Cuyahoga Falls, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish. Despite completing everything promptly, I ran into repeated lack of communication, major shipping issues (including damage), and misrepresentation of optional services. 1. Poor Communication and Lost Sale I originally found the car I wanted and worked with a salesperson from the Green location. I quickly provided all required information and signed paperwork, but after multiple attempts to finalize the purchase with finance, communication stopped and the car was sold to someone else without notice. Leadership from the Green store eventually helped me find another vehicle at the Cuyahoga Falls location, but no apology, discount, or remedy was offered from Falls. 2. No Follow-Up After Payment After paying for the vehicle, I was told it would ship soon. Days went by without any update. My follow-up calls and messages to the sales manager went unanswered, and I had to contact the main line just to confirm my car was still available. 3. Shipping Problems I was told the car would be shipped in an enclosed carrier and that I’d receive advance notice. Instead, I received a last-minute call to meet the delivery immediately. The car arrived on an open-air carrier, not enclosed as promised. The driver spoke no English, making it impossible to ask questions or figure out what was going on. 4. Tag and Title Delays The car arrived with no license plates or temporary tags, even though I was told they’d be included. I had to follow up several times before temporary tags were finally emailed. 5. Misrepresented Add-On I explicitly declined the $695 paint and fabric protection, but was later told it had already been applied and couldn’t be removed. The contract clearly lists this product as optional, and the information I received about it was inconsistent and misleading. 6. Vehicle Damage on Arrival When inspecting the car, my wife and I found damage on the front driver’s side consistent with scraping or rock strikes. Photos and video evidence were shared with the dealership, and I was told the issue was sent to the appropriate team, but I have not received a response. I should note I paid the dealer for shipping ($2000) and they did not take any responsibility for the damage. I made numerous attempts to reach out and seek remedy (respectfully) to my contacts and to the managers, but like my other communications they were completely ignored by Marhofer Cuyahoga Falls. I have attached photos of the damage here as well as the contract that indicates the protection package is optional (and a text message from the finance manager saying it was not optional, which is not true). Overall, my experience with Marhofer Cuyahoga Falls was extremely disappointing. The lack of communication, shipping issues, and misleading information made what should have been an exciting purchase unnecessarily stressful. My only assumption is that because my deal started with another location they were angry about issues related to commission, but that doesn't justify the treatment I have received here. More
