Fixed car but poor communcation Hi! I took my volvo in to be serviced - I was not super happy with the communication. I planned on waiting for the service (standard check up, lock r Hi! I took my volvo in to be serviced - I was not super happy with the communication. I planned on waiting for the service (standard check up, lock replacement due to recall) to be done and was hoping to make it home by a certain time. Halfway through I got a text of additional service recommendations and said I would probably do the battery replacement and think about the rest but would bring it back at a later time so I could make it home when I needed to. But when I picked up my car they had gone ahead with the battery replacement even though I never agreed to getting it done and for sure didn't sign anything saying I was okay with it being replaced. The extra time the battery took meant I didn't make it home at the right time and I wasn't able to consider my options when it came to the battery. I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt and consider it a miscommunication rather than taking advantage of me being younger, perhaps not as knowledgeable on cars (which is why I wanted time to research and consider my options) - but it was a very expensive miscommunication and I feel it should be standard to get express permission before making such a big repair on a vehicle. I was so confused/shocked when I picked up my car and eager to return home that I didn't say anything but I wish I would have! More
