This location did not honor the warranty that was purchased with the vehicle. Buyer beware of extra fees that can be inccured On maintenance services for the vehicle. Manager is also never around to purchased with the vehicle. Buyer beware of extra fees that can be inccured On maintenance services for the vehicle. We had a 9am appointment to test drive, and nobody was even there until 9:20. I mean literally none of the staff -- just us and the janitor. We finally did a test drive around 9:45 because they hadn't got even there until 9:20. I mean literally none of the staff -- just us and the janitor. We finally did a test drive around 9:45 because they hadn't gotten the car out yet and had to move a bunch of them around. When we were talking to the salesman after the test drive, there were multiple different people yelling at other salespeople for different reasons. Pretty surreal how poorly it is run. We decided to just cut our losses and leave. Not worth dealing with people who do business this way. We've since checked the reviews on other sites (TrueCar etc) and they're terrible across the board, which is not surprising. More
They wasted my time, money, and gas. I brought in a Mercedes CPO vehicle with full bumper-to-bumper warranty. They were actively looking for fake problems to reduce the price. First, th I brought in a Mercedes CPO vehicle with full bumper-to-bumper warranty. They were actively looking for fake problems to reduce the price. First, their mechanic lied and claimed the air suspension was not working, which was completely false. I had video proof showing the air suspension working properly. I showed them the video, they watched it themselves and clearly realized they were wrong — yet instead of correcting their mistake or being honest, they still pushed forward. After realizing the suspension was fine, they said: “If you don’t want to leave, come back and we’ll buy the car for $1,000 less than the price we already offered you.” That alone shows their intention from the start: create fake issues to break the price down. I also spent over 2 hours in traffic just for their appointment. When the suspension lie didn’t work, the guy named Ahmed then claimed my wheels were “chipped” to justify another price reduction. I will upload photos so people can clearly see how misleading and baseless that claim is. This was not an honest inspection. This was a deliberate, calculated attempt to deceive the customer. More
STG Auto Group in Montclair is hands down one of the worst dealerships I’ve ever dealt with. From start to finish, this place has been nothing but stress, frustration, and wasted time. I am filing a for worst dealerships I’ve ever dealt with. From start to finish, this place has been nothing but stress, frustration, and wasted time. I am filing a formal complaint regarding my extremely poor experience with a Chevrolet dealership concerning my 2016 Chevrolet Corvette. My vehicle has been in their possession since December 18, and as of that date, it had been in their care for a full 30 days. The vehicle has a transmission fault code and a supercharger issue, both of which require warranty approval for repair. The warranty company requested four simple photographs from the dealership on January 2 and again on January 8. As of yesterday, the dealership still has not submitted these photos. Even the warranty company attempted to contact the dealership directly and could not reach anyone. Because of this complete lack of response, my claim has been delayed entirely. The dealership has provided no reasonable explanation for this delay. I am extremely frustrated that my vehicle remains unrepaired solely due to the dealership’s failure to submit basic documentation. This has caused unnecessary financial and personal hardship. In addition to this issue, the sales staff at this dealership are extremely pushy and unprofessional. The service department has been unresponsive, disorganized, and unhelpful. When I contacted the general manager for assistance, I was told there was essentially nothing he could do about the service department’s behavior. The warranty company continues to confirm that they are waiting on the dealership and receiving no cooperation or communication. I am requesting that the Department of Consumer Affairs investigate this dealership for failure to perform warranty-related repairs in a timely manner, failure to communicate with a warranty provider, and overall negligent customer service practices. No consumer should have to wait over a month with no progress simply because a dealership refuses to submit basic required documentation. More
I had one of the most frustrating and misleading car-buying experiences ever at STG Auto Montclair. I ended up driving a total of 6 hours across 3 separate trips because the dealership kept changing car-buying experiences ever at STG Auto Montclair. I ended up driving a total of 6 hours across 3 separate trips because the dealership kept changing the numbers every time I arrived. What makes this worse is that they even texted me confirmed OTD prices, yet when I got there, they added extra fees and charges that had never been discussed. This happened twice, and neither time did they honor the price they sent me in writing. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch. They told me the deal was $35,000 out-the-door, but I later learned they added my $2,000 down payment ON TOP of the price, which is not how an OTD price works and was not communicated to me. Luckily, for me, I got lucky and saw an email that came later after the purchase that I needed to sign a form via DocuSign in order for their bank to fund the deal. This was my way to exit the deal. When I returned for the third visit to unwind the deal (at the direction of their finance department), the sales manager Fernando tried to tell me I couldn’t return the vehicle and needed to “come back another day.” Only after I insisted and he made a phone call, then suddenly approve the return. The entire process took less than two minutes and required signing only four lines — meaning he could have done it immediately instead of wasting more of my time. The worst part? They removed my license plates without telling me during the return, and never gave them back. I discovered this only this morning. Completely unacceptable. No communication, no transparency, and no accountability. This dealership wasted my time, misquoted prices, changed their story multiple times, and mishandled my personal property. I strongly recommend avoiding STG unless you want the same headache. My experience involved: 6 hours of driving total 3 separate trips Two false OTD quotes Texted OTD prices they didn’t honor Last-minute add-on fees Misleading information about the return process Removed my license plates and misplaced my personal property The constant contradictions and lack of transparency made this whole experience extremely disappointing. I recommend anyone thinking about buying here to get EVERYTHING in writing and be prepared for unexpected changes — or better yet, find a more honest dealership. More
Purchased a vehicle on 11/1 that needed a few minor repairs. Negotiated the repairs into the purchase with a promise that they would be repaired prior to delivery of the vehicle. 4 days later when I wa repairs. Negotiated the repairs into the purchase with a promise that they would be repaired prior to delivery of the vehicle. 4 days later when I was finally able to get ahold of the sales person - Jerry. I was reassured that the repairs were made with no issues. So I drove to the dealership 1 1/2 hours just to find out that the repairs were not made and I could make another appointment with the repair shop to have the repairs made. This is the 3rd and LAST car that my family and hopefully anyone I know will buy from them. They were eager to make a sale but not so eager to do any proper inspection and repairs. Buyers please be warned. A once stand up dealership now turned into a Stealership!! More
My husband and I just purchased a car from STG Auto Group in Montclair, and needless to say that we were very pleased with the great customer service we receive from both of their salespeople, Eric and Georg in Montclair, and needless to say that we were very pleased with the great customer service we receive from both of their salespeople, Eric and George, and the rest of their staff are very cordial and friendly. The loan process was top notch we got the Monthly payment that fit our budget which made this experiencing even that much better, and even though the car we purchase from them was a 2008 Lexus 350 ES I must say that it not only drive smooth, but from the exterior to the interior it was very clean, smelled clean, it also looked like a brand new car. It had only two previous owners and based on the car fax they kept it well service. My husband and I will refer to our family and friends or anyone looking to buy a high quality pre-owned car to check STG Auto Group first. More
