I was in the same situation at the Richmond dealer, and the service writer didn't even say anything even though I was just there for an oil change a month prior. Terrible communication Why is it so hard for your service department to call me in a reasonable amount of time and let me know the status of my vehicle? I understand how busy it can get but when someone says they are going to call me by the end of the day, I shouldn't have to wait 2 days and then call service trying to find out what the status is. I shouldn't have to wait almost two business days to get in touch with my service contact (I had to call them) and then find out that it was going to be a week or more before anyone looked at my vehicle. Now - that would have been okay if I had been told up-front that it was going to be at least a week before someone could even look at my car. I could have made arrangements for this. But to just let me drop it off (this was actually an appointment I made about a week before I dropped it off) and then not tell me until I call them after waiting almost two days with no info on what's happening - that's unacceptable. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident in my experience with this dealer. What I'm asking for is not at all unreasonable. I understand how busy it can be especially with the whole COVID-19 problem hanging over all of us. I get it. But - It just takes a couple of minutes to call me and tell me that it's going to be awhile before my vehicle gets serviced. Or better yet - set the expectation up-front that it may be several days. Give me a day and time that I can expect to hear an update and then follow-through. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident with this dealer in my experience so I do not expect I'll be doing any further business with them. It's a shame too as I had been looking at the new Renegade. I've been in touch with Chrysler warranty dept and was told that I can take it to a different dealer for warranty service. I'll have to pay the deductible all over again - which I'm not at all happy about. More
