I came to gulf shores on vacation. My check engine light came on during the drive down. I took the truck to Gregory Norris in the service department. He told me he would do his best to get the truck in and looked at in a timely manner. They did get to looking at the truck rather quickly. When he called me to give me an update on the truck. He told me that the tech found lead in the fuel filter of my deisel truck. He told me that I needed an entire new fuel system and it would cost me roughly $19,000 to replace. I declined service. When I came to pick up the truck I payed the lady at the service counter for my diagnosis. Upon looking at the receipt nowhere did it state what they found or what they recommended. I had to ask for a printout of these things. What I received was very vague. I drove the truck home to my regular Chevy dealership deisel mechanic. They stated that it is normal to find small amounts of lead in your fuel filter. They preformed a flush of the fuel system for $250. The service advisor at my normal dealership stated that Chevy recently put something out about this exact issue. While is was on the phone with Gregory he stated that another truck he had in the shop at that time had the exact same issue. If you have a diesel truck don’t go here for service. More
