I looked online for a week and he texted me occasionally to check on my search, being helpful without being pushy. When I finally found a car I liked, I realized it was at the Sandy Sansing Foley, AL lot. I reached out to Tristan and he immediately assured me that he could get the car. He went to the other dealership and drove it back the same day. Tristan was so laid back and chill during the entire process. He made it actually fun to buy a car. I was nervous about the financial process and he calmed me down and made me laugh about my anxiety. The whole experience was so easy and I love my new car! More
The service dept. has been very nice, and kudos to Tom Goodwell. All repairs were covered under the extended warranty. *Word of caution, as others have had issues with used vehicles they bought here I did too. Have your used vehicle checked by a third party before buying from any of these dealerships* Short version, do n vehicles they bought here I did too. Have your used vehicle checked by a third party before buying from any of these dealerships* Short version, do not buy a used car from any Sandy Sansing dealership. It was an OK experience. Wasn't the worst experience I've had at a car dealership (the worst was actually Sandy Sansing Nissan.) In case you don't know, Mr. Sansing owns almost an extremely large amount of dealerships. Pro's: -Close to home -Clean -Ability to have vehicle bought in from other dealerships in the conglomerate -Work with local credit unions -Salesman/finance manager were friendly (didn't meet anyone else) Con's: -Website is confusing on what's available where -Almost the first questions out of the salesman's mouth were, how are you going to pay for this, do you have a trade, financing together or separate? Just made me feel like it was an assumed we're going to buy it and felt very impersonal -Likewise when we returned from the test drive it was immediately assumed we were just going to pay sticker (which unfortunately I didn't get much off of) -Wasn't told about the service department as I have been before at other dealers (usually they tell you service hours, where to go drop off your vehicle, how to schedule appointments, etc) -Only half a tank of gas (have always gotten a full tank at every other dealer) -Washer fluid totally empty -Never met nor was thanked by the sales manager for coming in When you go to any of those dealer websites, it shows you every vehicle available at ANY of their dealerships. Many large conglomerate dealerships do that but Sandy Sansing doesn't let you filter down to a particular location. That's a little bit confusing if you don't know this already. Once we realized this we selected a few different stock #'s we were interested in and called in. Our salesperson, Noah, tracked down the original ones we were looking for. Two of them had some sort of issue and weren't "available" to be looked at. We continued searching around and found another one we liked that was more expensive. Texted Noah Monday morning and he found it and said it would be there by noon. Didn't end up arriving till after 5P but that was ok (other than having to be at the dealership late when everyone is ready to go home.) I appreciate Noah for taking the time to get one we wanted in. As I wrote above in the cons list, there were just a lot of assumptions and maybe that's the way Mr. Sansing's sales staff are taught to approach it but in the days of social media, you see a lot of dealers on TikTok that really take time with their customers and make them feel comfortable and welcomed. Historically I've always met the sales manager, they'd come out and thank you for your purchase. Never met or talked to this one. Maybe it's because by the time we got to signing papers they were already closed since we spent 2 hours there and it was closing time. Also where they have their sales manager setup is out in the open behind a half partition type thing and you could hear them talking about you and it just made it kinda awkward (especially since he never bothered to introduce himself.) Don't expect any discounting off of the website price. I'm guessing had I come in on the last day of the month/year and sales were low maybe I'd gotten a little better deal but it is what it is. Like I said, overall it wasn't a "bad" experience it just didn't wow me or make me say "man, I'll definitely buy from here again." **Dropped another star off the review as we never even got a thank you or follow up text/call from the salesman. I was trying to give Mr. Sansing’s dealerships a second chance but doubt I’ll buy from them again. ***Dropped another star because I took it in for service to have some things done that hadn’t been and lo and behold it has a bunch of stuff wrong with it that wasn’t detected during the vehicle’s dealership inspection.
