Below is the original review, and now that more has come to light two months later, I would Schaumburg Honda, in resolution for a bait-and-switch. Below is the original review, and now that more has come to light two months later, I would like to share some information with fellow consumers in the market for a vehicle. This specifically pertains to a New vehicle, but the same scamming can happen to a used or certified pre-owned as well. If your car window side sticker states a dealer installed Xzilion, it is inaccurate, and the warranty is not honored. I went in to get a spot checked out on my paint, and Mike (Mykhaylo) Pastukh stated that I did not pay for the package. Truthfully I was never asked to purchase the package, or shown a line for dealer installed options. I instead was charged a Smart Driver as well as Smart Identity packages, to which was never agreed upon at time of sale. DO NOT ACCEPT THESE CHARGES! One is for replacement keys at a cost of $985 (I was told by finance it was a free service from Bob Rohrman and to simply sign to acknowledge that I understood the FREE package). The Smart Identity I was told was FREE and included with the purchase of the vehicle through Rohrman, at a cost of $349. Please as a caution, DOUBLE CHECK DOCUMENTS THAT SAY ACCEPT OR REJECT AGREEMENT! I reached out to their GM Matt Ashford at least 4 times previously, no reply. Here is the original review, I previously rated this dealership a 5-star rating, per request of my salesman, but now that I caught their discrepancy of my purchase, I have to lower my rating to the worst experience. I walked into this dealership asking to check out the 2021 New Honda HR-V’s available, and was helped promptly by Tyler Griffin. Keep in mind, Tyler is 4 days fresh into the gig, and hasn’t sold a single car until my purchase today. He checks out the stock of 2021 HR-V’s as we sit in his office, and then head outside to test drive the car. I cannot tell you exactly when the discrepancy happened, but this may have been the start to it. We go on a test drive and I enjoy the car a lot. While on the test drive, I asked about the current offer for $0 down, 0% APR for 60 months, because the 2021 models qualified. He said promptly “that offer expired”, so I thought nothing about it, taking his word for it. When going back inside, we start negotiations. They quoted me an out the door of $31k, and for a vehicle with a sticker price of $26.6k, I didn’t find that to be a respectful offer at all. Eventually getting them down to $27.5k out the door, I wanted that last $500 off to make the cost out the door $27k. I was told that they could not make the deal, so I kindly shook hands with the 2 sales floor gentlemen and walked out. I was stopped in the parking lot getting into my car by Tyler Griffin, my salesman, that they would make the deal for $27k out the door. Keep in mind, the negotiation was being set on a 2021 model, noted by the main sales associate when he said “I can’t go that low on a model I’ve only had on the lot for about a year”, the 2022 models are set to drop this summer/fall, so this proclamation signifies the year of the vehicle even more. After signing all the papers, I was promised by Tyler the ability to leave my new car on the lot until I could bring someone else to come pick up the car with me. Sales associates once again said that wasn’t true, and I would have to take the car off the lot and park it at Bob Rohrman University across the street so it wasn’t on the lot. Getting home, I realized a huge discrepancy, the model car I signed for was a 2020…I did not verbally agree to even checking out a 2020 model. I was set on a 2021 model, and negotiated with the model year of 2021 in mind. I called to have this situation rectified, and was told that they can do a 2021 for $1,500 more than the $27k, because of the “confusion”. I am assuming it was a large bate-and-switch tactic, because of the fact that 2020 was never mentioned at time of test drive, sale, or finance write up. I agreed to a purchase of a 2021 model, and ended up with a 2020. Trust was broken today Schaumburg Honda. More
What a disappointment! Scheduled my oil change for 2pm, arrived to dealership right on time, stud by the car for 15 minutes in the service lane (I was the only one there). Everyone passing by had the same arrived to dealership right on time, stud by the car for 15 minutes in the service lane (I was the only one there). Everyone passing by had the same greeting "Someone will be with you shortly"! Per receipt, car was checked in at 14:16 and ready at 16:48! Two gentleman came half hour after me to the waiting room and left half hour before me, I doubt they came for windshield wiper replacement! If you are really that busy, please advise your customers not to come or reschedule their appointment instead of having them wait in the lobby. You knew exactly what service I'm coming for. Carwash was not working so it had no effect on the wait time. I could have drove to Crystal Lake Honda 30 miles away and be back sooner with the oil change. I guess lesson learned on my side... More
The building is falling apart and is very unkept. I went in on a Saturday without an appointment and everything seemed rushed. Compared to the other dealerships we visited, this was not inviting at all. The vehicle we test drive smelled like cigarette smoke, again not very appealing. not inviting at all. The vehicle we test drive smelled like cigarette smoke, again not very appealing. More
