I stopped by the service department and spoke with Lance Dias about the vehicle's problems and to schedule an appointment. Lance was extremely thorough in reviewing my concerns and suggested I leave the car for a couple days while arranging for a loaner. The problem turned out to be a bigger repair than I had hoped for, but Lance worked with Honda and secured a repair covered by the vehicle's warranty. While there Lance pointed out some gaps in service and arranged to have these addressed while the larger repair took place. So while I ended up spending on service I hadn't planned on at this time (Lance is very persuasive), Lance made the process easy and instilled considerable confidence. My next visit to Honda, I'll be asking for Lance. More

Great experience but came with a minor guilt trip After visiting a few other used car dealers, I chose to buy my car with Schaumburg Honda. I called ahead 20 minutes and they had the car I wanted to s After visiting a few other used car dealers, I chose to buy my car with Schaumburg Honda. I called ahead 20 minutes and they had the car I wanted to see already pulled around for me and it was very clean. Chintin, my sales representative, was a good listener and was never pushy. We had an excellent test drive and he was very knowledgeable about the car and was able to answer all of my questions. When I was trying to decide whether or not I wanted to buy, Chintin sent me a detailed line-item cost breakdown which was crucial in my decision about whether or not to purchase. The purchase process was relatively swift and the finance person was very friendly and empathetic. The dealership was very clean and all of the cars were as well. The salespeople were friendly and not pushy. Other dealerships I went to, the salespeople kept me there longer than I was willing, and the cars were trashed or smelled of cigarettes. Thank you for running a tidy and clean business and respecting my time. The only critical feedback I have is during the financing discussion, I declined the extra coverage on the car, and they were obviously disapproving. I was not willing to spend an extra $2400 on the car for the extra coverage, especially when I'm buying a Honda which is supposed to be known for its longevity and good quality. I didn't like feeling like something catastrophic might happen to my new (to me) car. It would have been better if when I had declined, they had just accepted that as my answer right away. Additionally, I personally think the ethics of flexible pricing on the extra coverage were really shady. Just make it a flat non-negotiable price that's fair (ie: not what you had listed on the price sheet...those were obviously inflated prices), and leave the negotiations--on that part at least--out of the picture. More
