While the family originally made its start with the Buick brand, the Scherer dealership is looking to take its business to the next level, offering a new and improved product with the Mazda brand. Here at Scherer Mazda, you're treated like family. This comes from our long history as a family business, which began back in 1905 when Otto Scherer opened his first Buick dealership in Palmyra, Wisconsin. He worked closely with his close friends and automotive giants such as David Dunbar Buick, Walter Chrysler, and C.W. Nash. The Scherer dealership was built on Scherer's philosophy of good service, quality products and great prices, which led to his respected position as a successful business owner in southern Wisconsin.
A man history won't soon forget, Scherer's business accomplishments were felt throughout the community. When his original store building burned down, Scherer took it upon himself to have a new building constructed that would house not only his own business, but a post office, medical and dental offices as well, thus "The Scherer Opera House" was built, being the first building in Palmyra to offer electric lights.
The Scherer Family has been proudly serving the Peoria area for decades and looks to do so for years to come.

I typically take advantage of their offer to drive me to work while my vehicle is serviced. On this occasion, and in light of social distancing concerns, I was issued a loaner for the day. It was a new version of my car, a Mazda 6, and I certainly enjoyed trying it out. I was later sent a link to a narrated video showing a technician examining various aspects of my car and commenting on them, which was a new twist that I also appreciated. Overall, I have confidence in the service department and will continue to place my trust in Scherer Mazda. More

Great Experience as Scherer Mazda. We were looking for a new or used smaller SUV. We have owned previous Mazda's so we knew they were a good car. We were driving a BMW and it was time to get a new vehicle. I will admit I was a bit spoiled driving a BMW, enjoying the quick get up and go and tight steering. My husband was also not excited about going to a SUV, but this is my car and he finally let me take the lead. We were pleasantly surprised at the quick pickup and response driving the CX5. We ended up looking at the 2020 because I wanted the Apple Play Connect. We had Ryan Menke as our sales person, and were very happy with his knowledge and help with the car. He drives one also so has been very helpful. We felt that they offered us a fair price, great warranty options and overall feel very good about the dealership and absolutely love the car. More

Rob was really nice nice. Went in for a recall notice and oil change. My bf was just really annoyed that they charged $60 to drill out a screw that had broken off to secure my license plate. From the first time I took my 2010 Mazda3 here I was sold on their service department - Daniel asked me about my car, I absolutely love Scherer Mazda. From the first time I took my 2010 Mazda3 here I was sold on their service department - Daniel asked me about my car, I thanked him for asking me and he said "It is your car and you know your car". As a female you don't always get treated with this kind of respect when it comes to the service of your vehicle.
