While the family originally made its start with the Buick brand, the Scherer dealership is looking to take its business to the next level, offering a new and improved product with the Mazda brand. Here at Scherer Mazda, you're treated like family. This comes from our long history as a family business, which began back in 1905 when Otto Scherer opened his first Buick dealership in Palmyra, Wisconsin. He worked closely with his close friends and automotive giants such as David Dunbar Buick, Walter Chrysler, and C.W. Nash. The Scherer dealership was built on Scherer's philosophy of good service, quality products and great prices, which led to his respected position as a successful business owner in southern Wisconsin.
A man history won't soon forget, Scherer's business accomplishments were felt throughout the community. When his original store building burned down, Scherer took it upon himself to have a new building constructed that would house not only his own business, but a post office, medical and dental offices as well, thus "The Scherer Opera House" was built, being the first building in Palmyra to offer electric lights.
The Scherer Family has been proudly serving the Peoria area for decades and looks to do so for years to come.

Purchase I will not purchase another Mazda from Scherer Mazda of Peoria again, my experience was awful. The salesman pressured me to trade in my car and convin I will not purchase another Mazda from Scherer Mazda of Peoria again, my experience was awful. The salesman pressured me to trade in my car and convinced me he had a person who wanted to buy it and then gave me a loaner car for 2 days that was a strip down model of what I was purchasing, Then when I went into see the F&I manager Scott Saver, he kept trying to pressure me into buying an extended warranty by saying "This is the last time you can buy this warranty" and each time he said it he kept getting louder, and louder and louder. Practically Yelling at me. My husband was with me he also witnessed this disrespectful behavior. I do like my car, but next time I am going to Bloomington IL to buy my next Mazda. More
