The Service Department are practically criminals! I took my new Kia to their dealership a year ago in December, because it was having issues starting sometimes in the morning. They ran and charged me I took my new Kia to their dealership a year ago in December, because it was having issues starting sometimes in the morning. They ran and charged me a diagnostic fee and said they couldn't find anything wrong and I should just use a higher-octane gasoline. Almost one year to the date I took my car to them? The check engine light comes on. They run and charge me another diagnostic fee and they tell me that I need $5,000 for new engine due to oil sludge. They said that Kia wouldn't pay for it because I didn't have "enough" oil changes since I brought the car two years ago. When I asked them why they didn’t see this problem a year ago, they told me "we don't know". I asked to see the report from their diagnostic test they did a year ago and they mysteriously couldn't find it. I asked them if it is just oil sludge causing the check engine light to come on, why couldn't they just flush it and fill it? The general manager says to me annoyed " My people are technicians, they are NOT mechanics". That night I received a phone call from this extremely rude man. He informs me that my engine is so bad that it wouldn't start anymore, and I should pay them $200 to have it towed off their lot back to my home. I refused, since I brought them a car that was running just fine and now, they wanted to charge me for a diagnostic test and a car tow. I was yelling at them for this obvious Christmas "shake-down” and he hung up the phone on me. I went back the next morning and discovered that someone on their staff had mysteriously left a light on inside the car overnight and the battery died. A thirty second jump and the car started right up like nothing was wrong. I took the car to my mechanic and he tells me how almost every mechanic in the Upper Darby area warns their customers NOT TO EVER GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP!. The mechanic flushed my engine changed the oil for $75 and the light suddenly goes off and it runs perfectly once again. I have no reason to lie and I do not know any of them personally. This was beyond gross negligence, this was a shake down because it's my wife's car and she dropped it off to them. They saw a woman and tried their best to take advantage of her. DO NOT EVER TRUST OR GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!! Remember, I warned you! More
