I bought a brand new 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 from Seaview and picked it up on May 17, 2024. It had dents in it and the plastic on the back of the tailgate was faded. On a truck with no miles on it. The sales More

Hi, Sam. Thanks for sharing your experience... two years later. Unfortunately, this is one of the experience that stands out in the memories of almost nearly every staff member here. Everything that you explained above is accurate, however I believe your understanding of how and why these events transpired is the issue. There was a "blemish" in the inside of the bed coating on the tailgate. Where truck owners load and unload many items. The "blemish" was one that no one else could really see, including the adjuster with GM who approves these kind of fixes. Eventually, we just ended up swapping the tailgate with another truck from our inventory to make the issue go away, even though new blemishes were now present on the tailgate of your truck due to normal day to day wear. Seaview absorbed the associated costs and labor, without compensation, after your factory warranty claim was denied. The HVAC issue was a similiar experience for all. As you mentioned, the field technician which GMC corporate sent out specifically to look at your truck was unable to duplicate the issue and deemed it normal operation. Any issues involving repair or replacement of parts on a new truck require an approved solution from GMC. While Seaview is a GMC dealer, it is not GMC corporate. Ultimately, GMC corporate are the ones who denied the claim. Additionally, we did submit your buy back request to GMC corporate, which was denied by GMC corporate, not Seaview. They said there was a lack of supporting claims to substantiate a factory buy back at the time. The proposal we sent to move you in to a new truck was at your request to provide alternative solutions, after the claim submitted to GMC corporate was declined. We were offering a solution, in a sea of problems from both the customer and manufacturer level. If you mistook our offer to personally repurchase your truck, when the factory was unwilling to, as anything other than a gesture of good will, you are mistaken, or you misunderstood. It seems as though your frustration is at the manufacturer level, and not with the dealer who was put in the awkward position of giving you the news that wasn't what you wanted to hear. We are pleased to hear that your persistance paid off in your desired result, of having GMC repurchase your vehicle, and that you have now found a dealer that you would prefer to work with.

UPDATE, responding to the owner: Thank you for confirming that everything in my review is accurate. You then answered only the two items that route through GM corporate, and left out everything that was yours. GM corporate did not keep my truck for two full weeks. GM corporate did not tell me the delay was my fault for leaving no note, after I told your service writer my dates two weeks ahead, told your salesperson what was going on the night I dropped the truck off, and texted your own service line my return dates at 6:42 that Monday morning. GM corporate did not hang up on me. GM corporate did not text me asking for a review while my truck sat unfixed in your shop. That was all Seaview. On the HVAC, you tell the public the noise could not be duplicated and was deemed normal operation. Here is what you left out. On May 22, 2024, five days after I took delivery, I texted your salesperson a video of the noise and asked if he could hear it. He wrote back: "I can hear it, what button are you exactly pressing?" I told him. The fan speed button. He also told me he would have your general manager coordinate with the service department to get everything handled properly. That was May. Your field engineer did not come out until late September. And your own texts continue past him too. October 2, from you: you could finally hear the high pitched noise and were checking parts status for the blower motor and a cabin filter. October 3, from you: blower motor replaced, the noise changed, you suspected sealing insulation in the ductwork vibrating like a reed, bore scope planned, possible HVAC case replacement. October 4, from you: your advisor reported the noise was still present. So a Seaview employee heard this noise five days after delivery, your shop chased parts for it in October, and the public version is that it could not be duplicated. On the tailgate, you say the blemish was one nobody could see. On May 22, again five days in, I texted your salesperson that service was pushing back on the discolored tailgate cover and that all the service manager did was make excuses. You then replaced the entire tailgate. Those things do not sit together. On the new truck offer: I did not request it. It arrived in my inbox as a finished deal structure. And to be clear, I was open to the idea. If Seaview had wanted to take the truck back in house and put me into another one, I would have done it. What I objected to was what it was going to cost me. I signed for that truck on May 16, 2024 at $76,604 before tax and fees, $80,975 all in, with 66 miles on the odometer. Five months later you valued it at $62,000 against an $81,590 replacement and asked me for $9,819 out of pocket. I asked you to split that difference. You came back with $1,950, leaving me about $7,900. The price of walking away from a truck that made noise from the week I bought it was the entire loss in value plus another eight thousand dollars of my own money. A lemon law attorney got General Motors to repurchase the vehicle. My rating stands.

Unless I receive a FULL refund for the so-called diagnostics, I have nothing further to say or do with Seaview! I would never recommend your Service Center to anyone! Alicia and Lillian do their job very well, but it's not enough to make me return.

That sales person Gabriel should be fired. He is unprofessional and rude. I agree with other reviewers who made comments before regarding this individual. More
