Meyer Kranson - Service Review On September 12, 2014, I brought my 2000 Lexus to Seeger Toyota for an oil change. Three days before on September 9, after I filled my car with gas, On September 12, 2014, I brought my 2000 Lexus to Seeger Toyota for an oil change. Three days before on September 9, after I filled my car with gas, I ran my car through the service station's car wash. When I arrived home, I realized I had failed to secure my gas cap and had lost it in the car wash. The next day, the "check engine" and "trac off" lights appeared. That evening, I purchased a new gas cap and screwed it tightly into place. I drove around for quite a while, but the two lights stayed on. The next morning I drove the car to Seeger, met with Dave Shore and signed up for my scheduled oil change. I told Dave the story regarding the gas cap and the "check engine" and "trac off" lights and asked him if he could have someone re-set whatever needed to be re-set after my oil change was completed. It was so obvious that not having a gas cap for 24 hours was the cause for the 2 lights. Dave insisted the check would take a great deal of time and that the charge would be $79.00. I knew the reason for the 2 lights and after hearing my story, Dave should have known as well. I told him I would have the procedure performed elsewhere. When I left Seeger Toyota, I drove to the service station in the Green Trails subdivision. After I explained the issue to the service station manager, he hooked up an emission's tester. The code showed the cause for the 2 lights was tied to the gas cap. He re-set what needed to be re-set. The entire procedure took less than 30 seconds. My wife and I purchased our Highlander at Seeger. We service 2 cars at Seeger. I realize you need to be profitable to stay in business, but certainly, performing a 30 second act as a favor would have done much more good than harm.
