Selma Honda has been very good to me! I bought my 2007 Honda CR-V there in August of 2007 and have taken it back for maintenance and repairs ever since. Friendly staff, but I was disappointed by the lack of transparency. The dealership did not clearly explain that several items were optional and carried extra costs; instead, I was told that I “get” them transparency. The dealership did not clearly explain that several items were optional and carried extra costs; instead, I was told that I “get” them with the vehicle and that “all of our vehicles come with” these features by several staff members. I later discovered that these were actually charged as optional add-ons, costing an additional $2,785. At no point was I informed they were optional or given the opportunity to decline them. The additional costs included features such as IKON Technology, Cilajet Protection, and Portfolio Theft Protection. Both my husband and I were led to believe these features were included based on the phrasing used by staff members. Had I been properly informed that these items were optional, I would have declined them, as is my right under consumer protection laws. While I value the vehicle I purchased, the lack of disclosure made the overall experience disappointing, and I am now extremely hesitant to do business with this dealership again. I hope they improve their process by offering clearer explanations of pricing and optional items, ensuring future customers can make fully informed decisions. On a positive note, the trade-in process was straightforward, and the agreed-upon value was honored. More
I called to schedule an oil change and service for recall issue. The appointment was supposed to be for both services and when I got there, the tech told me it was for an oil change only. I was not happy as I told him that I drove 30 miles to get there with intention that I was going to have an oil change and the recall service was going to be worked on. The tech told me that they didn’t have the parts to do the recall so they couldn’t do it that day, which was an inconvenience because I took time off from work for these services. Furthermore, I was alarmed with the fact that it didn’t seem like the dealership took the recall, seriously, which is concerning to me. This recall needed to be done as per the details of issues.
