When we bought the truck we noticed the check engine light, but was told that we would have to bring it back in for inspection. The last vehicle we bought from Shea it had a 30 day return and it would fix any problems. Not so with this time. So, we purchased a Platinum warranty which was a little above $2K and we believed would cover these issues. That was not the case. We had a friend of ours who is a GM Mechanic look it over and told us that it needed a high pressure fuel pump. So when I brought the vehicle in on January 22nd I told the service person at the desk that we had a platinum warranty and told him that I had a GM technician tell me that it needed a high pressure fuel pump. After sitting for six hours he comes out and tells me that I needed a high pressure fuel pump and tells me it will cost me $1400.00+ to have it fixed and it would not be covered by my warranty. And then tells me that the work they did today would cost me $150.00. I told him when I came in what the problem was. I understand that they need to do their own diagnostics, but why didn't they tell me that the part would not be covered by the platinum warranty. We paid $23K for the truck, plus an additional $2k+ for the warranty and now an additional $1,400.00-$1,500.00 for the fuel pump. So, yes we are not happy and will give a second thought to ever using Shea again. I understand that this memo will not change things, but I want you to understand that prior to today's fiasco I have told friends that I would recommend Shea when looking for a vehicle. Now I would not recommend Shea to any of our friends. Sorely disappointed! Neil/Marguerite Carr hcarr77997@aol.com (810)-441-4479 To go along with the previous text, when I purchased the 2015 Z71 Silverado the key FOB fell apart so I purchased two (2) new ones at a cost of $225 each so that I could start my vehicle on cold winter days. So far, that was a waste of money also because the check engine light and the high pressure fuel pump problem prevents the auto start feature with the FOB to work properly. Thank you for the early morning freeze because I cannot remote start my truck. More
