Hi Kane, My name is Mark Metivier and I am the manager of the Pre-Owned Department. I want to address these issues and see if we can still assist in finding you your next vehicle. In regards to the vehicle inspection, you are correct in that you were told it had received our 172 Point Certification Inspection when it had not. This was said in error by our salesman who was under the impression that vehicle had received that inspection. We do perform a safety inspection to make sure things such as brakes, tires, suspension, safety features, etc. are all up to code and the car is then deemed safe or unsafe. We are not provided any written documentation other than the bill from the service department. In regards to selling the vehicle to someone else, the most cliche thing a dealership can say is "well if you don't buy today someone else might come along and buy it first". This happens more than you think. The gentleman who purchased the vehicle actually looked at it before you inquired about it. He was going to do his research and let us know. We told him for 2 days you were purchasing the vehicle and it was sold. This is not a common service as no deposit was collected. The night you left to come and take delivery and decided to turn back because we could not provide the inspection we took that as you were no longer interested in purchasing. While we strive to provide excellent customer service and make personal connections with our customers, we have an obligation as a business to sell vehicles. I ask that you see it from both sides. It seems like in your review you mentioned Luis asked you to send him a picture of the front and back of your credit card to take a deposit. I realize you were not comfortable doing so, but in order to take the deposit we require the photos of the card, your license and a credit card authorization form filled out. Unless all 3 of those items are collected we can not run a card to take a deposit. We would still appreciate the opportunity to find you your next vehicle. Thank you for the reply Mark. When I turned back on Tuesday I told Luis I would come the next day once you have the report or I will do my own inspection. How you took that as me no longer being interested is rather surprising to me - and it is to anyone else. I understand you need to sell vehicles, but you should also be building long term relationships - which I’m sure you do, which makes it even more strange how this transaction panned out. If you need the licence, and credit card and completed finance form then can you get your sales team to know that please - next time they should have told me that and I would have obliged. Remember I offered to pay a deposit and was told that was not required. You also reference telling the other person for two days that I was buying it. That cannot be true. I looked at the car on Monday evening just before you closed, you can’t count that as a day. Then Tuesday - yes that’s one day. Next was Wednesday you can’t count that since you sold to someone else during early afternoon. So please, it was one day! I would love to rebuild relations and put this down to a one off. So please if you do find another Escalade 20-30k and under 50k miles I would be interested.
