I did some homework and found the discontinued Subaru Outback 3.6R, last made in 2019, was a good successor. As I don’t trust internet car sales e.g. Carvana, I gritted my teeth for what I expected to be a stereotypical dealership experience. That to me means pressure and other unpleasantness. I found several 3.6Rs in my area, then braced myself to wrangle with whatever dealership I chose. After contacting a few dealerships, I settled on Sheehy Subaru, who appeared to have the best price for a 3.6R with the lowest miles in the area. I am pleased to write that my experience was the opposite of my expectation. My Sheehy vehicle expert Chris La Porte and sales lead Adam Edwards provided me all I needed to know about the marvelous 3.6R I was blessed to have the opportunity to buy. And they patiently worked through all my questions and paperwork to get me in and out of their facility within three hours. In communicating with other dealerships about their 3.6Rs before heading to Sheehy, I learned that one can easily encounter the stereotypical experience if one isn’t careful which dealership visited. We were met with such friendliness and Chris had the car I was interested in pulled out ready for me to take for a spin! The professionalism coupled with his personable demeanor were exactly what I needed to be comfortable with buying a new car! Chris worked hard to ensure it was everything I wanted and more, and ensured to work with me so I felt comfortable with the financing. I couldn’t imagine wanting to work with anyone else when it comes to purchasing a car, Chris is your guy!! I also couldn’t speak higher praises of Adam Edwards in finance. He was absolutely killing it yesterday with all the individuals he was seeing in such a timely manner with him being the only one there! He was so friendly and also made sure we worked together to find the best financing option for me. I couldn’t speak higher praises of these two gentlemen who helped me get the car of my dreams. After just one conversation over the phone with Shabir Baba and sales manager Chris Barr, they understood what car exactly we need. Shabir and sales manager Chris Barr treated us with respect and care. There was no haggling and pressure - just an excellent car buying experience! We drove away with the car the same day. Chris Barr ensured we were satisfied with all the terms of our purchase. Shabir took the time to show us the car features and safety to ensure our smooth drive back to Virginia Beach. Called a ton of dealers and thought I had a really great deal from one. Luckily I was connected to Chris LaPorte and he was able to explain to me that I was being duped. He was 100% honest and upfront in every conversation, made the process easy and quick, and was super communicative. I would recommend Chris and this dealership to anyone looking for a car. My only issue was that it was not made clear that I wouldn’t be able to put my entire down payment on my card which put me in an awkward position since I bank with USAA and they don’t have physical locations and it was a Friday so other banks weren’t open. The finance department is working with me and is also very up front and easy to communicate with, but it’s definitely an extra stress. More
Drove 2 hours to look at a 2006 Tundra with my pregnant wife. Called called before hand to see if it was available. Ultimately I’m SHOCKED that Sheehy would even sell this type of vehicle with the condition it was in. THE TRUCK HAD NO PAINT! The clear coat was literally off the truck, paint chips all over, and a huge scratch on the right side. Sheehy This is the type of vehicle you would see at a sketchy wholesale “buy here pay here” used car dealership on Jefferson Davis HWY. Carmax wouldn’t even sell this type of vehicle with the condition it’s in. As a past customer I’m just really surprised Sheehy would sell a vehicle like this for 2K over KBB value. I shouldn’t of trusted the salesman who said it was in great shape. Complete waist of a trip and I had to listen to my wife complain all the way home. I can’t wait to post the pictures in the FB tundra page when Sheehy puts them online. Members are going to crack up laughing. More
