Ryan and Kyle were great to work with! Tanner seemed to be all about money and making a sale with no relationship. This is obviously my opinion, but if my wife and 15 year son had the same Tanner seemed to be all about money and making a sale with no relationship. This is obviously my opinion, but if my wife and 15 year son had the same opinion then maybe I wasn’t too far off. The Shottenkirk VPP is super confusing on how you (Shottenkirk) uses it as a pricing tool. This does not build value or help you in your aggressive pricing structure. The 2014 traverse we purchased was above market value per NADA and my credit union. The finance manager Astrid said she didn’t like my credit union I was using and was all about trying to find me a new lender which I told them all I was already pre approved. I first signed papers on Monday 4/3 with Astrid and then came back on Thursday 4/6 to finalize paperwork. When we came into her office she said we need a $1,150 down payment because your vehicle was well above the 110% ltv and my credit union on went to 110%. Not sure why this wasn’t told to me on Monday or even before I came in Thursday night? Very inconvenient to somehow find $1,150 dollars on the spot in front of your 15 year olds first car. This all started on a Saturday 4/1/2023 and asked $470 off the asking price. Tanner said no because it was already priced at their best price per another sales manager when he came back to the table. Luckily I show my son the car on Sunday and saw that is had some type of an oil leak. I called and emailed first thing on Monday to ask if they would fix the oil leak and rear license plate light housing on the passenger side. Tanner and Ryan said they were going to have service look at it. Come to find out from the 175 point inspection, service had listed oil pan a little wet (minor). It was then diagnosed as a rear main seal which is not a minor job and a very important part. Tanner made it sound like he was doing me a favor by asking for my word to purchase the vehicle and they would fix the rear main seal. This should have been caught during your 175 point inspection that you use to build value. There was also a wobble/vibration to vehicle and Kyle the salesman also saw the vibration. I hope the rear main seal was repaired correctly. When I took possession of the vehicle, it still had a vibration. I sent a video clip to Ryan. I took it to discount tire to have it rebalanced and it helped. Still can feel something, but it probably a worn part that I wished Shottenkirk could have told me so if they didn’t want to fix it I could get it fixed else where. I just found out the license plate light housing was repaired by using some type of sticky tack material. It had two plastic clips and the right one was broken. I thought they would replace it with a new and not use chewing gum (I’m exaggerating now) to hold it in place. I can send pics if you want. I don’t think this is how vehicles should be serviced. Also the battery is the original battery from 2014 (9 years old)Shottenkirk said if shows good voltage they do nothing with it. I feel Shottenkirk should replace batteries that are over 5-6 years. This is best practice maintenance. But what do I know, I’m not a mechanic. Now I will have to go buy a new battery for my son. My family felt that communication was lacking. When I looked over the 175 point inspection I saw that the sunroof, running boards and def was marked completed in the inspection instead of marking N/A as it had listed in the column. This vehicle did not have those items. A guy named Alex said he couldn’t sugar coat it and that it was due to laziness. So many red flags that we will not buy a vehicle from here again let alone recommend the dealership. More
