Apparently all cars cost $2k more than the list price because you have to buy the total care plus coverage. Then there was extreme pressure to buy other additional coverage that, as best I could figure w because you have to buy the total care plus coverage. Then there was extreme pressure to buy other additional coverage that, as best I could figure w/ the vague pricing the finance person would give me, would cost about $3k more for the cheapest one "that everyone buys"... Not everyone buys it, because I didn't. Additionally, I was told if I use my outside financing they "have to" charge me an additional $1k because they don't usually accept outside financing. They did agree to drop the fee & let me use my outside financing, but lots of pressure for me to at least apply for their financing. It ended up being after 5 pm by the time I got into financing & my bank was closed, so not an option if I wanted to drive the Santa Cruz home that day. I went in to buy a 2022 Santa Cruz SEL Premium for $33,643 w/ my own financing. Initially, I left after they refused to take the additional $2k for the total care plus off & they let me drive away w/o purchasing the car or negotiating down on the price. I ended up going back, paying the $2k extra for the total care plus & using their financing at 5.74 which seems like a good interest rate. I love the car & still feel like I got a good deal, just not as good as I thought I was getting. Also, there's a message saying it needs to be serviced in 6 days, so if I was buying again I would definitely look at that. Mikale was awesome. He even sent me a video of him with the car so that I could see the car I wanted was there on the lot before I headed over. More
