I purchased a used Toyota Avalon and worked with Oscar, who was wonderful to deal with and made the process easy and pleasant, all things considered. I would consider doing business with Shottenkirk again who was wonderful to deal with and made the process easy and pleasant, all things considered. I would consider doing business with Shottenkirk again, and I would deal with Oscar again for future vehicle needs. Having said that, I only awarded Shottenkirk 3 stars out of 5 because of some last minute additions to the vehicle pricing. The advertised price is NOT the actual price you'll pay, at least not if you bring your own financing. There are always additional small fees on any car deal, like the document fee, and TT&L, but those are not what I'm talking about. Shottenkirk added a "Restoration Fee" of around 10% of the advertised price, and this gave me enough heartburn that I might have walked away if (a) I hadn't needed the car and (b) the overall price hadn't still fallen within the KBB and Edmunds fair price ranges. Yes, the car had new tires, a new battery, and a 4 wheel alignment (within the previous 60 days), but I believe that if the dealer wishes to recoup such costs it should roll them into the advertised price. I think it verges on dishonest or even "bait-and-switch" territory to spring such a "Restoration Fee" on a customer while the final paperwork is being done. Oscar was apologetic and I don't think he was expecting this on my transaction. It is clear to me that this was something rammed into the deal by the Finance Manager, Nick. So, the bottom line is that Shottenkirk is a reputable dealer with a good selection of used inventory. Oscar is a first-rate sales rep who was a pleasure to work with, and with whom I would happily work again. I would caution others that the advertised price may not be the actual price, and we're not talking about incidental fees or voluntary options like service contracts or extended warranties. Bring your own financing, and be very wary of last-minute surprises like a "Restoration Fee" or other such things that may originate from the Finance Manager's office. More

I wound up purchasing a new Toyota CHR from Shottenkirk Toyota in Granbury. The car is great, working with the salesman, Chris Bayless was fine. My only complaint is I felt that the manager wasn’t very honest with me on the price I was told I would get the vehicle for. I have had this happen to me in the past with purchasing a new vehicle. They go round and round about how much you’re willing to pay monthly, then you wind up paying more for the car than you were expecting. Part of the reason I know I let this happen is because I waited and waited and waited for my turn with the finance guy. When it was my turn, his printer kept messing up, we had to do more back and forth over the warranty stuff, so I still don’t know what my interest rate is! I didn’t get out of there until after 9:15pm. I should have gone back the next day to finish the paperwork when I was clear headed and not exhausted. At the same time, I feel like I was to some extent taken advantage of. More
