I visited this dealership to evaluate an unusual used car, a 2014 Audi RS-7. I informed the sales personnel from the outset that I was there for only one purpose- to determine whether this was a vehicle car, a 2014 Audi RS-7. I informed the sales personnel from the outset that I was there for only one purpose- to determine whether this was a vehicle that I could enjoy as an everyday driver without compromising my wife's comfort, since she has some serious health issues. I explicitly and repeatedly told them (a) I was not there to make a purchase (that is going to happen in next 30-60 days), and (b) I had limited time. What developed was the single worst dealer experience of my life. And the second-worst is not even close! My needs and concerns, my purpose for the visit, were completely disregarded. The salesman asked for the keys to my car "to get the mileage from the odometer". I said we're not going to negotiate a deal until I've identified the car I think meets our needs. He insisted and, to be polite, I gave him the keys. He kept them. During the test drive I took a call from my wife, who needed me to return home. At the end of the drive I expressed that I needed to get home to her. He seemed incredulous that I didn't "want to see the numbers." I asked him to email the numbers, and asked where my keys were. He insisted on going to get "the numbers" from his sales manager, who he said had my keys. I asked him to get the keys, because I needed to go right away. He brought back the numbers, not my keys. RIDICULOUS numbers. Numbers padded with nearly $4k of dealer added services that, when I questioned them, he asserted were "non-negotiable". Made my response easy. We weren't going to a deal today anyway, and I sure wasn't going to pay for amorphous "services" at their discretion. They were not going to just arbitrarily impose $4,000 of padding to the price and declare it not negotiable. I said AGAIN that I absolutely needed to leave. The salesman said, OK, I just need to let them know your response. I followed him to stand outside the door to the sales manager's office. I called out to him and said again that I needed to go. The sales manager came out (I think he was, from trying to read his badge. He didn't bother to introduce himself) and asked if I liked the car, why didn't I like the deal? I said it was overpriced and that I had honestly tried to express the limited purpose and time I had for the visit. My needs and time had been totally ignored. When the salesman finally joined us, I had to get rude and admit that, since I was being honest, at that point I was honestly angry that I did not have my keys so that I could leave. The salesman then produced them from his own pocket. Particularly from a small-town dealer, these old school high-pressure tactics were frankly a shock. I'm 64 years old and I've never been ignored, disrespected, and held hostage like that before. I've also never reviewed a car dealership. Ever. Until now. My message to people in North Central Texas? If it is on the lot of a Shottenkirk Toyota dealership, forget it. Don't approach within ten miles of this place. Their "process" is arrogant and abusive. I've seen dealers do some really inappropriate and unethical things before, but I have NEVER been subjected to anything like the "Shottenkirk experience". I'm making it a verb. From now on, when I experience abysmal customer service, I will consider it being "Shottenkirked". More
The Service Advisor (Angelica) couldn’t have been more helpful and cooperative. The scheduled maintenance was routine but handled very professionally. helpful and cooperative. The scheduled maintenance was routine but handled very professionally. More
The problem I had was it took way too long for a simple oil change and tire rotation. Normally I would make an appointment and it would take about an hour or less. This time I had made an appointment and i oil change and tire rotation. Normally I would make an appointment and it would take about an hour or less. This time I had made an appointment and it took 3 hours. That’s a lot of time wasted in the waiting room. Messed up my whole day. More
