Stay Away from Skyline As first-time used car buyers, I'll admit my spouse and I had a few things to learn, and some of my complaints may be true of all used car sales exper As first-time used car buyers, I'll admit my spouse and I had a few things to learn, and some of my complaints may be true of all used car sales experiences. That being said, I had a horrible experience with Skyline. Bought a used 2006 Subaru that had previously been smoked in. My spouse and I are not smokers and as soon we got in the car for a test drive, I knew there was no way I could live with a car that reeked so bad. But our salesperson, Anthony Hopkins, assured us it would not be a problem to get the smoke smell out. They had just taken it in on trade, he explained, and hadn't yet had a chance to "deodorize" it. Naive as it may have been, Anthony sounded so calm and confident that he could get god-knows-how-many-years of smoke out of the car, that we believed him. It was even written clearly in the "We Owe" section of our sales contract. Fast forward a few long hours and my spouse and I are sitting zombified in the finance office while Joe Quintana tries to sell us some shady warranty. I can hear a wooshing sound outside of the office, which turned out to be the sound of our car being cleaned. When we are finally ready drive home, Anthony presents the newly cleaned car and says, and I quote, "Got that cigarette smell out of there for ya." Uh... really? In fifteen minutes?! You guessed it, the cigarette smell was far from gone. Weary from this process, my spouse and I drag ourselves home and decide to return as soon as possible when they re-open Monday morning. It's Monday morning. My spouse and I drag ourselves back to the dealership before we've got to rush to work so we can let the dealership know right away that we have a problem. At this point I'm skeptical as to whether there is any chance in xxxx they can actually get the smoke residue out of the car, and yeah, we're not exactly acting pleasant. At this point we're kind of pissed. And this is when we had the great pleasure of interacting with Skyline's manager James Berry (sarcasm indicated). As prickly as we may have been, this guy is a real hothead. At first he refused to work with us at all, claiming that we had "bought a car" and that was that. After pointing out that deodorizing was a stipulation of the contract, Anthony, our sales person, insisted that they hadn't actually had a chance to complete the process. They had just done a cursory clean, he explained, but it still needed to be fully detailed. He again assures us that they use this process on $50,000 cars. So we let them deodorize it. I was truly hopeful that this would work. We really liked everything about the car aside from the strong smell. Well apparently to Skyline Mitsubishi, "deodorize" actually means detonate five chemical stink bombs to try and cover up the smell that's making your customers uppity. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, well, you know how this goes... Desperate to save this car, I take it around to a few independent detailers to get their opinion and a quote. Most said that with the level of residue present in the car, they couldn't guarantee that they could fully remove the smell. One professional reached right in between the seats and pulled out three old, stinky cigarette butts! I gasped! Some "detail" Skyline had performed. At the recommendation of a local consultant that inspects used cars, we decided to try and get the dealership to pay for an actual detail. We called and called, and even showed up in person a couple times, only to get the run around. When we finally got James on the phone, he seemed appalled that I would request such a thing, explaining that they had already paid to have the car deodorized. I seriously began to wonder if we were using two different definitions of the word, and desperately tried to explain that the car was still fully-odorized and that regardless of who he paid or didn't pay, it was the dealership's responsibility to take care of the problem! As stated in the contract! He started screaming at me over the phone and then hung up on me. I really don't know how this guy is able to keep his job. Isn't it customer service 101 not to scream at and then hang up on people? In all fairness, he called back immediately and apologized. I frankly can't understand why he even put himself in that position in the first place. After going above James' head with the Dealin Doug franchise, we finally got approved to have the car fully detailed, which involved a deep steam clean of every inch of the car's interior. While this improved the smell greatly, it is far from gone. Gone- the original claim made by our Skyline salesperson. The two professionals who detailed the car informed me that there were so many chemicals leaching from the car as they steamed it (likely from the stink bombs) that they both ended up with nose bleeds later that evening! Terrible! We had other problems as well, which I won't bore you with, and still haven't received the title. My advice: Stay Away from Skyline Mitsubishi!!!!! More
I traded my 2012 Chevy Sonic in in November for a 2010 Ford Escape just so I could have a safer vehicle. I loved the car and it was decently priced, so I wasn't too concerned about buying this car from th Ford Escape just so I could have a safer vehicle. I loved the car and it was decently priced, so I wasn't too concerned about buying this car from them. They got me out of the door with my new car several hours after test driving it. But, I've had my car for about 4 months and I have yet to see any paperwork from the dealership, my title has not been sent to the county, therefore my cars been unregistered for over a month and I'm several months late on paying my taxes which will result in a huge fee, and they have yet to return any of my phone calls or work with me in any way. This is my third car that I've bought from a dealership and I have never in my life seen this poor of customer service. They can't even complete tasks that are basic and should be done within the first couple weeks of buying a car. I am extremely pissed off by this. I would not recommend them. More
Wow, used car buying experience has been horrid. 20 year old kid was sold a 13 yr old car with 177k miles and MAJOR mechanical problems. There is a question about when she got her emissions "coupon" and an old kid was sold a 13 yr old car with 177k miles and MAJOR mechanical problems. There is a question about when she got her emissions "coupon" and an explanation of the 3 day return policy, which turned out to be pretty important when the car failed the emissions test. She was also sold $3300 of "extras" on this $4500 car. Joe Quintana, the finance guy, has not been good about returning calls or helping resolve the emissions problem. Unfortunately James, the sales manager, wasn't any help today either. After months of trying to resolve with Joe, his manager James said he knew almost nothing about our issues. After four visits to the dealership, going back tomorrow for one last try. Wish us luck! Sugestions anyone? More
took my car in for repair, they tried to overcharge me on parts. i had to look on mitsubishi website to find that i could get the parts for $300 less than the dealership. After telling them this they then cam parts. i had to look on mitsubishi website to find that i could get the parts for $300 less than the dealership. After telling them this they then came down on the cost. When i went to pick up my car, they could not find it. After 40 minutes they did find it but they lost my car keys. Luckly I had my spare. 2 weeks later I am still getting the run around about getting a new key replacement. I have repeatedly been told that they will get back to me in a day or two and no one calls. I have to keep following up with them. And to top it off, i have been offered no appology. How does a dealership lose a persons key and then not bother to fix the situation. I love my car but I will NEVER buy another Mitsubishi. More

My wife and I was sold a used vehicle for 17500.00 With almost 100,000 miles on it.. After reviewing our purchase on Kelly Blue book, we discovered we're paying 7500.00 more then what the car is actually w almost 100,000 miles on it.. After reviewing our purchase on Kelly Blue book, we discovered we're paying 7500.00 more then what the car is actually worth.. They danced around numbers and rushed through the process of the purchase quickly so we wouldn't catch on. The pretended they were working for us but the reality is they work for their banks. Advertising and sales tactics are unscrupulous. Dealin Doug. More like Dealin Thug.. Do not buy from them period. In fact the same more then likely goes for all of his dealerships... More
They were very helpful in working with me. I did say that I felt I was paying about the same price for a used car as I would for a new one, they knocked off some, but then added it back on for a "mis-co that I felt I was paying about the same price for a used car as I would for a new one, they knocked off some, but then added it back on for a "mis-communication" but took off some of the tax to compensate, gave me a great trade in on my used vehicle and let me keep two of my new front tires to replace because the one I bought had a mis-match in front. We went to this dealer to find a brand new car for me. I wanted a 2012 with third row seating, as we need the space for our larger family. We found an excellent car, got a very good price for our trade, and our payments are reasonable. We were promised a few of upgrades on the car, like remote start, a clear bra, and the front windows tinted to match the back, all were kept. We've never had a problem when we needed something looked at or needed any kind of service. We even got a cargo rack installed for a much better price than we could find it anywhere else, and they installed it for us. We'll go back here whenever we need a car. More
I went in with intensions to buy, got pressured into buying a 2002 Saturn L300. I thought everything was good until two weeks later the antifreeze light came on so I took it in and it was the thermostat buying a 2002 Saturn L300. I thought everything was good until two weeks later the antifreeze light came on so I took it in and it was the thermostat got that fixed. Than the same light kept coming on so I always had to check the antifreeze all the time because it was leaking. Four months later the I took the car in again and the waterpump had to be replaced. Eleven days later I had to take it back to a shop, still leaking so the shop says its the intake and head gaskets and that it is covered but They cant fix it so now it goes to a different dealership where Im told its the block heater, which is not covered. now I have a car that is worse than before...the struts are bad,the passanger rear window motor is broke so the window dont roll up all the way, the service engine light, security light, tool light, oil light, and gas light sometimes they stay on and sometimes they dont work at all. Also the all the gages work and then dont work. I called Skyline they told me to bring the car back and they would see what they could do to help me, I was told since im on umeployment and didnt have a co-signer they couldnt help me...IVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR 5 MONTHS!!! I would not send anyone to this dealership EVER!!!!! Not to mention I have paid all my payments even though I am unemployed at this time.. More
