I just got my second Kia Sorento today when I traded in the my first lease for a newer model. I had the pleasure to work with Cordell(my salesman) as well as Greg and Rosa who handled all the finance and terms of the new lease. The three of them were very professional and bent over backwards for me to get me the best deal possible. When you get ready for your next car it may not be possible to get you the "dream deal" that you are looking for but I can tell you that Cordell, Greg and Rosa will do everything they can to make that "dream deal" possible. As for the car, it's my second Kia Sorento so obviously I love the car. Keep Kia in mind for your next car and def go to Smithtown Kia if you want a great experience!! More
Look for Mike Halliday Bought a Kia Sedona LX last week for the growing family. I had met Mike earlier in the week and he showed me around some of the used models on the lot Bought a Kia Sedona LX last week for the growing family. I had met Mike earlier in the week and he showed me around some of the used models on the lot. I went to a couple of other dealerships in the area that had models of similar price and equipment, and the salesmen I encountered were truly awful. Mike didn't play any games like that, and was pretty honest about his background, and was super nice to me and my wife. He was really well-versed in all of the features of the cars - one of the reasons I went with the Sedona that I did is that he explained how CarPlay and all of the other features on the car worked which basically did all of what I wanted. It's why I bought the LX model I saw at Smithtown instead of higher SX models that were available elsewhere. The used cars on the lot of Smithtown Kia were all very clean and looked like they had been kept well. Other places had very dirty cars that weren't clean at all. One thing to note - I want in at a different time and dealt with a different employee, who quoted me prices on average $3k higher than what was listed on the Internet and what Mike had told me earlier. When I called him out on it, he said "Oh, Mike was going right on the Internet price, I guess we can do that." Why should the salesman give me a different price than what was listed on the Internet if I had just been a guy walking off the street? I didn't end up purchasing that night and waited until Mike was back on Friday. Mike didn't play that game and was upfront about all of the pricing. So I gave this dealership review 5 stars, but I'm really saying that Mike (and Rosa in Finance) are getting the five stars. Mike's also the snappiest dresser in the dealership. More

New Car Purchase A week ago I was forced to buy a new car, since my Bessy of 15 years finally gave in to old age. I must repeat that I vehemently did not want to buy a new car. The thought of even giving her up while test driving several potential candidates brought tears to my eyes. I'm not kidding. I was convinced that it still made sense to fix Bessy up one more time out of sheer love for the car, but I was unable to convince the rest of my friends and family. I resigned myself to buying another Honda CRV since my experience had been beyond great with Bessy. I planned on going to purchase the 2017 Honda CRV when it became clear I had no choice. Just to cross it off the list before going down to Honda, I went to test drive the Kia Sportage, since it was the only one I hadn't test driven yet. I walked in and explained to Cordell exactly what the situation was and was almost on the verge of tears again. He took my emotional state in stride, was calming and accommodating. I immediately had a major quandary as soon as I got into the Kia Sportage for my test drive. It felt right. All the components in the "cockpit" felt in place, it could fit my artwork in the back, it drove smoother than any of the other SUV's I test drove, it was comfortable, fairly decent sight lines, great warranty package, and loads of standard features. The only sticking point was that I wanted push button start, which was included in the model above the one I test drove. Cordell worked out a deal to make that happen, the car was on the lot, a 2018, less than the 2017 Honda and the clincher was the color that they had in that model pretty much matched the blue color of my house. This purchase is bitter sweet, but I am enjoying the car and Cordell made it as painless a process as possible. There were only two small issues. The receptionist was curt and unfriendly on the phone when I called the dealership to ask an important question before returning that same afternoon to pick the car up. The second issue was I found out that the photographic inspection that needed to be done for my car insurance needed to be done at the dealership and not offsite. It had to be done before the car left ever left the lot since it was brand new. This is because if on the way to get the car inspected it should get damaged it would lessen the value of the car. I am hoping my return visits for maintenance and such will be as pleasant as the purchase process. More
