I bought a new Volvo XC70 wagon in '08 and have had to have it in a few times for some very minor repair work (squeaky rear door, radio...). Both times my car was not repaired on the first attempt and I have it in a few times for some very minor repair work (squeaky rear door, radio...). Both times my car was not repaired on the first attempt and I had to bring it back multiple times before the incompetent service staff was able to make the repairs correctly. The woman at the service desk is the most UNFRIENDLY person and it is impossible to get a loner car from them. The courtesy driver was rude and the service managers leave much to be desired (poor communication i.e. do not call when car is done). I will never buy another Volvo from Smothers because of their very poor quality service department. The sales associates in the showroom are friendly/knowledgable but I'm sure they are at any Volvo dealership. Take the extra time to drive to Marin or Berkeley to buy your next Volvo, I know I will. Rather, I drive to McKevitt Volvo in Berkeley and get the best service anyone could possible expect or desire. More
