Great initially, poor customer service after purchase I had a great experience during the initial purchase process at Southpoint Hyundai. My only complaint was after the fact. When I contacted State Farm I had a great experience during the initial purchase process at Southpoint Hyundai. My only complaint was after the fact. When I contacted State Farm to get my coverage updated, they offered me a much better interest rate and shorter term. I then contacted Southpoint Hyundai to ask a question unrelated to this matter, and in the course of conversation, the fact that I was planning on refinancing with State Farm came up. When I told the guy in the financing department (Jamie) what they had offered me, he said "let me see if I can get the same rate for you, if not better." I agreed, and he said that he would call me back "in a few minutes," so realistically, I was expecting a call back by the end of the business day (I had called on my lunch break). Jamie did not call me back that day, or the next day. So 2 business days have gone by and I have heard nothing, so I decided to call Jamie to get an update. When I reached the financing department, the guy I spoke to said that Jamie was off that day. Uhhh, what? Customer service is a large part of my profession and I would never tell someone that I will call them back in a few minutes and then just simply not call back after 2 business days. I would have (at the minimum) given a coworker of mine the rundown of what was going on with my client, and had that person call my client on my day off...or at least called my client before my day off and said "I haven't gotten an answer yet, just giving you an update, tomorrow is my day off but I will let you know something as soon as I can." I am a very compassionate person and I am the first person to give someone the benefit of the doubt which is why I didn't call again to raise xxxx, but seriously?. Overpromising is a huge pet peeve for me and I can't be the only one that feels this way! Also, why couldn't I have been offered that better rate (or something similar) to begin with? Why was I offered 6% interest for 75 months, then when I contact Southpoint Hyundai and tell them I've been offered a much better deal, now they are ACTUALLY concerned about getting me a good deal? I am a first time buyer so I was super skeptical and that seemed very sketchy to me. More
