My mom went in to purchase her very first new to her car. When we arrived we were told they would take care of all of the issues with the car before we drove off with it. We asked for a loaner until her car When we arrived we were told they would take care of all of the issues with the car before we drove off with it. We asked for a loaner until her car was ready and they said no but we can drive the car we are trading in. Once everything was signed, we realized the items promised the dealership was going "to take care of for us" were actually charged on top of the amount of the car. When I was told the car was ready to pick up we went and inspected the car. The new front bumper they placed on the car didn't even match (the "new" bumper was sand and the car is dark silver) and the sales person kept trying to get her to drive it off the lot. So I fought it having to get the manager involved, especially since we actually paid for it at this point to be correct. We bought the car February 1st, 2025 and they have allowed the paper tag to expire twice now and it is currently expired as of May 15th. I have called them 3 times in the last week each time being promised the new paper tag is in the mail but they have complained they don't want to pay the fines so I doubt they have gotten anything done at this point. They have now told us that they didn't do their due diligence when purchasing the car from the previous owner and the previous owner had a lien on the car so they aren't able to get the title until the previous owner pays up. Please do not go here. It is the worst place filled with empty promised and deceptive business practices. More
we had no issue with the car buying. In November of 2024 we purchased a used 2021 kia sorento with roughly 54,000 miles on it. Said to be certified. Fast forward to feb/ mar. We had our In November of 2024 we purchased a used 2021 kia sorento with roughly 54,000 miles on it. Said to be certified. Fast forward to feb/ mar. We had our first warm day outside so i turned on the a/c. All vents blew cold accept the driver side. So i called to see if i could schedule a diagnostic. The next appt was almost 2 weeks out and my car is a daily driver so the miles would continue to climb.now 2 weeks passed and i speak to the guy in service and ask again about warranty. At this point im at about 60,000 miles.so i called and told the gentleman that i spoke to about the issue. I was told that any warranty i had was only until 60,000 miles and the a/c wouldn't be covered even if i had less miles. So that was employee number 2. So i felt defeated because i am assuming im out of luck with any type of warranty. Well i took my car to a kia dealership closer to me and found out today that i will have to pay $2500 to get my AC fixed. I then called southwest and asked what inspection do they do in order to label a used car certified to be sold. The gentleman told me explained and then proceeded to tell me that my vehicle had a 12,000(65,000) miles warranty that would've covered the ac.WHAT?!?! I told him the 2 other employees never stated that! My car has 67,000 miles on it and when i first called it had less than 60k. He apologized for me getting the misinformation before and also stated that it's not their fault i went over the miles. I never said it was but to be told different things about a warranty i specifically called about is now costing me $2500. I haven't even had the car a good 4 months yet and already having to do a very costly repair. Im so upset i could cry. Word of advice- no matter how ready you are to leave the dealership look over your warranty and ask questions. Contact kia if you have to verify. Update:GM responded to get in contact to see if there is a resolution. I reached out and haven't received a response back More
Lemon car, Liar Salesmen: April 2024, I purchased a 2020 Kia Optima EX premium with 20,000 miles from Southwest Kia Mesquite on Oates Drive. Two days after taking possession of the car, it died in an inters Kia Optima EX premium with 20,000 miles from Southwest Kia Mesquite on Oates Drive. Two days after taking possession of the car, it died in an intersection. I immediately called the dealership the next morning. Steve stated he would pick up the car and “unwind the deal.” Yet when I followed up with him via email, he denied having offered to unwind the deal. Southwest Kia Mesquite then held the car for four days to “run diagnostics.” When they returned my car, they had driven it 300 miles WITHOUT MY CONSENT and returned a previously full tank of gas ON EMPTY. They claimed there was nothing wrong with the car and refused to take it back. Since then, it has spent the equivalent of SEVEN MONTHS in another Kia dealership’s repair shop, undergoing numerous repairs that never fully fix the car. Additionally, that dealership stated Southwest Kia Mesquite doesn’t have the setup to run diagnostics on vehicles. Its transmission was replaced and it’s had several “repairs” of the electrical panel, yet continues to malfunction. I have also spent this entire duration repeatedly asking Kia as a company to buy back the car. Only at the beginning of December did anyone at the company tell me Kia has an arbitration process exactly for this request. Meanwhile, the car is back at the other Kia dealership, yet again awaiting repair. Before Southwest Kia Mesquite, I had been a happy, repeat customer of Kia. Whatever you do, don’t go to Southwest Kia Mesquite and don’t buy from Steve. More
I bought a brand new 2024 Kia forte back in August and they set up 2 services without my knowledge. When I finally called to schedule my first free oil change I made the appointment for 3 pm got there aro they set up 2 services without my knowledge. When I finally called to schedule my first free oil change I made the appointment for 3 pm got there around 2:15 I know I was early I took this into account however my car didn’t get pulled to a technician until 4 pm got no update nothing just left me sitting in this dingy xxx room that smelled like S?!& because they allowed a women to bring her puppy in here and wait for her car to be serviced so the dog was peeing and pooping everywhere so highly annoyed with that. Then when I go talk to the office manager she’s just like well what do you want me to do just cause you have an appointment time doesn’t mean that’s when your car is going to get seen?! Like what do you mean ma”am that’s exactly what a freaking appointment time means!!! Then I am assuming her boss was absolutely no help he was just like I have 1 lady out sick and another office staff out like how the heck is that my problem? And how is that your machines problems ? That doesn’t do anything to my wait time … then the lady is like it’s not going to be done by the time you need to leave because I need to go get my kids this is absolutely the worst service center I have been to ever since Kayla retired this place has gone to xxxx ! I purchased a car a little over a month ago and have been trying to get a second key since I picked up the car. I was told by the salesman,Willie Porter, that he would contact the previous owner to see if th trying to get a second key since I picked up the car. I was told by the salesman,Willie Porter, that he would contact the previous owner to see if they had the second key in their possession. If not, he would order me one. I received a rather short reply from Willie via text message, but no other updates since then. It's now a month later and I still do not have a second key. Don't tell someone you're going ti do something and not follow through. I received a reply from General Manager,Mauricio Pena based on my initial post.. I replied via email and let him know he could reach out to me. It's been almost a week and no response. This is very shady business as well as very poor Customer Service. It's all about the money and has nothing to do with overall customer satisfaction. I will not refer anyone to this dealership! I will post a review on all social media platforms to hopefully avoid anyone else from having the same experience as I did when it pertains to Southwest KIA of Mesquite. It's amazing how the level of Customer Service goes away once a sale has been completed and commissions paid. NEVER again!!! Beware!!!! More
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SOUTHEAST KIA IN MESQUITE! Not only do they not honor the recalls, answer their phones or their computers are always down! My daughter’s car was sitting to be fixed for a week Not only do they not honor the recalls, answer their phones or their computers are always down! My daughter’s car was sitting to be fixed for a week with no update. We finally decided to go in person and of course they couldn’t find her car because it wasn’t even in the system. Then we’re told they’re two weeks behind! My daughter is in college without her car!!!! I have called and keep getting voicemail with no call backs or transferred to another person who transfers again and again! More
KIA K5 ISSUES! !! I bought a certified pre owned 2021 K5 a year ago and the A/C has gone out twice already. I took it into Kia and of course the gold extended warra !! I bought a certified pre owned 2021 K5 a year ago and the A/C has gone out twice already. I took it into Kia and of course the gold extended warranty doesn’t cover the melting in the fuse box. They quoted me $5,000 to fix it for something that I did not do! Kia actually knows about this issue in the K5s, but has not issued a recall. Mind you it could potentially catch fire, which sounds like a possible lawsuit coming. I am in the military, currently serving our country and have been going back and forth with @southwestkiamesquite FOR A WEEK AND A HALF because their manager told me I could upgrade the warranty to platinum and even quoted me prices to do so. It’s also the SUMMER TIME and hot. They always say they are going to “call back” (but never do) and yet I first complained July 15 and it’s now July 24 and I have no movement on this issue. Two different warranty reps said that I could upgrade my warranty even though the car was being looked at, and I specifically asked if they could if a claim had been put in; THEY SAID YES! I have been patient long enough. I cannot afford to replace the engine harness/fuse box nor should I have to since it’s a KIA K5 ISSUE! Other K5 owners check in please because the reviews I have seen online are saying they have the same issue and some have caught fire. This is ridiculous! More
