It was a terrible experience and almost made us give up on buying a car as soon as we started our car search. We first dealt with Jared, who was fine, but this review will focus on the second person that spoke with us, Adam Drakulic (Sales Manager). Right after greeting us, he pointed out something wrong that his colleague did, which we thought was very unprofessional. Also, the manner in which he spoke to us was very condescending and rude. Instead of giving us any kind of counter-offer to our initial offer, he simply told us we should look for an older model. His attitude made us want to leave the dealership immediately. After going to several other dealers after that, we found a dealer that not only treated us with respect, but also met our offer for the same car (same make, same year, same mileage, same options). He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer every question I threw at him. I was also very impressed with his punctuality in maintaining all time-frames that he told me he would meet. After him and I narrowed down exactly what I wanted over the phone he submitted my special order for the truck and it arrived literally exactly the day the he told me that it would. Overall, I was more than impressed with his personal attention to my needs but his attention to detail throughout the entire process. More

My credit score is not good, recently having gone through a divorce and my application was put on hold until the following day when the financial director was available. I called the next afternoon and spoke with a Ralph who stated they were busy and he was hoping to get to my application later in the day. He was going to call and let me know the status of my application which he never did. Thursday, the same exact thing. I also was without a vehicle due to an automobile crash the previous week. Friday, Jarrod, the sales person called to say he was checking with finance to see what was going on. At this point Jim Basilone was working on an approval from Toyota and asked if there was a Toyota I was interested in, stating it would be easier to finance if it was a Toyota vehicle. There was not a Toyota in my price range that I was interested in. Friday went by without knowing either way if I was getting the Pilot. Saturday I foolishly call Jim again and he states he was waiting for the supervisor from Toyota to give the okay to approve me. However he did tell me the Pilot was no longer available. At this point I am mad. I speak with Jarrod who says he was unaware the Pilot sold but was busy of course so he would look into it and get back to me. I called toward the end if the day and spoke with Jim who said we are looking into a vehicle for you and would get back to me within an hour which never happened. I wasted five days with this dealership being led on that they were trying to help me when in fact they were blowing me off the entire time. If I couldn't get financed they should have let me know. The experience was completely unprofessional. I would never go back here and I certainly would not recommend to anyone to buy a vehicle from them. I am happily driving an Acura from Baierl at this point in time. More
Bad Business My car is under warranty. I booked appointment over phone and confirmed if there are any charges for inspection and they told me NO charges for car un My car is under warranty. I booked appointment over phone and confirmed if there are any charges for inspection and they told me NO charges for car under warranty. At the time of service, they told me to change Rotor and brakes and its not covered under warranty. They quote me $473. I said NO and they asked me to pay inspection fee $54 which is ridicules. They have not done any work. Whats use of warranty if u even have to pay for inspection. I raised my concern to service manager but same response. I will never return to this Toyota service center. I suggest to go close by Monro Muffler, More

When we caught them by insisting they give us the old battery they refused to refund the money. The service manager said it was fine if we took our business elsewhere. We had purchased two vehicles from this dealer. We dropped our 2008 Toyota Tacoma at Spitzer Toyota, Monroeville, for service on June 24, 2014. The battery light on the dashboard was lit. Since the battery in the truck was less than a year old we did not believe the battery was the problem. The battery had been purchased at Advance Auto Parts August 2, 2013. The dealer called and told us that the battery was “leaking” and had to be replaced. A short time later Spitzer called again and stated that the alternator needed replaced as well. They were given the ok to do the job. It took them three days to finish. The bill for everything was $799.60 of which $144 was for the replacement of the battery. We did tell Spitzer that we wanted the old battery back so that we could return it to Advance Auto Parts. Of course when we picked up the truck they did not have the battery and had to “get it back”. I suppose they thought we would forget but instead we insisted and had to call back and make a special trip out to the dealer to pick it up. As we suspected there was nothing wrong with the battery. We took it to advance auto parts who ran the test on the battery and it was fine. The gentleman who tested the battery just said, “They took you for a battery”. We called the service manager at Spitzer and asked him to refund us the $144 that was spent erroneously on an unneeded new battery (who knows if the truck even needed a new alternator). His solution was for us to make another trip out to the dealer to have the old battery put back in the truck. We rejected that solution and told the service manager that we would no longer be doing business with Spitzer and cancelled a service appointment for a Prius that we had purchased from them in January. His response was “Ok that’s fine”. Now of course we are questioning all of our dealings with this dealership. I would recommend anyone who does any business with them to be aware they are obviously not above fraudulent activities. We unfortunately had purchased two cars from them. More
Spitzer's staff made us feel welcomed the second we walked in the door. Finance manager Jim was very polite and talkative but not pushy. They're in the midst of major construction, which is probably st walked in the door. Finance manager Jim was very polite and talkative but not pushy. They're in the midst of major construction, which is probably stressful for everyone, but they were all super nice. I would definitely recommend Spitzer for all of your automobile needs. Can't wait till they finish the new 20 bay service center! More
Was there to get a quote on RAV4 lease. Experienced the most unprofessional customer service I have had lifetime (specifically by managers). Inappropriate communication, insulting/rude responses, ignorant most unprofessional customer service I have had lifetime (specifically by managers). This was the worst experience I have ever had. I had been discussing a lease payment on a Tacoma through email with their internet salesperson. She got a quote from the 'manager' on 220/month with 2995 been discussing a lease payment on a Tacoma through email with their internet salesperson. She got a quote from the 'manager' on 220/month with 2995 down on a 36K msrp vehicle. Yes I know that sounds outrageous so I continuously asked her if this was correct and she assured me that it was. So I make arrangements to go down there during my lunch break and I meet 'Steve', the manager. He hands me off to a clueless salesperson who had no idea about the interaction I had with the internet salesperson. After I explained to him 3 or 4 times of my situation, they put together a totally new quote and come back with $644/month on a lease. So they were off about $400/month....what a ridiculous dealership they have, can't believe the remain in business. I am local an was giving Spitzer a shot even after I have never heard one good thing about them. Well guess what, every person I know will hear about this and I'll never recommend those incompetent idiots. Of and I get no response from the internet salesperson as to how she could be that far off. I also filed a complaint with Toyota corporate. More
I have a 2010 Camry LE lease and I wanted to buy it out thru your dealer on 1/17/13. Jim Engler told me that if I go thru the dealer I need to pay an additional $200 fee and he said he doesn’t exactly kno thru your dealer on 1/17/13. Jim Engler told me that if I go thru the dealer I need to pay an additional $200 fee and he said he doesn’t exactly know what the fee is for, and he said some is for the state emissions and some for the safety inspection etc. I agreed to pay the fee. He said since the lease car is currently registered under my and my wife’s name, my wife needed to be present as well. I told him they can go thru their inspection and I would come back with my wife after 5-6 pm. I left and I called him back again around 10 AM. I told him the car is also due an inspection and wanted to make sure that $200 covers it, he said he doesn’t know what part is for state and let me know. Later in the day around 3.00 PM, Jennine from Service called me and she said they would charge another $95 for the inspection, I told her not to do it because I could get it much cheaper elsewhere. Around 5:30 PM, I came back with my wife, Jim was busy and he asked Pat Laughlin to talk to us. Pat was an allaround nice guy and I don’t really have much to complain about him. I asked him what the $200 is, he said the dealer needs to make sure that the car is safe and also the paperwork. I said OK. We also told him that we have a 4 week old son at home and is there any way we can send my wife faster, he said she needed to be there. Then came their finance manager, Jim again I guess with APR’s and else. He first came with 3.99% for 5 years I disagreed and he came up with 2.99% for 3 years and my credit score is 810. I told him I don’t like the rates, then all of a sudden we were taken to service to pay $200 and buy the car elsewhere. Apparently, $200 was nothing to do with Toyota it was for dealer only. The nice guy Jim Engler who doesn’t know what $200 was for told me that I did not need to pay anything if I got my own loan and purchased from Toyota, but since they so called inspected the car, I needed the pay the $200, he went back to sales from service and disappeared for 15-20 mins without saying anything. Then my wife and I went back to the sales and told him 2.99% - 3 years is fine, we don’t want to wait any more. Let’s get done with this thing. After another long wait, their finance manager got available and he said that my wife did not need to be there after all, and I need to sign the paperwork. I also told him I want to know what service was done for the $200 and he would not know and wanted me to go check with service, all of them were gone so no receipt for whatever was done in the car. I also asked this guy about the $200 he said it is thru Toyota, and if I buy it there or anywhere else, Toyota asks customers to have the car safety inspected before it is sold. I also paid an additional $131 for document fee. I thought it was included in the $200, three different answers from the three guys!! So somehow these guys managed to rip me off. Around 8 PM, I went out to see poor Pat trying to change my plate, I told him why can’t I keep my own special plate, he said it has to be done, Toyota requires it. They did not tell me anything about it, I have registration until Nov 2013, why would I repay it!. Because apparently finance manager took the registration from both of us and transferred it to me. Now I will have to change it back again. He could not take the old plate out, and now the screw is worn off, I can’t take it out either, pfff. Further, I told him, I am paying $15K for a car and they just can’t wash it let alone put gas in it. I came home called Toyota Financial, called Toyota Motors to find out there is no fee for so called service inspection, they don’t know about changing the plate either. All I know is one of my buddies got a 2010 Accord thru another dealer, got 2.4% for 5 years, life time free state inspections, and kept his old plate. All and all, this was by far the worst customer service experience in my life. The worst part is they kept my wife three hours for absolutely nothing while our infant son is at home with his grandma. They need to educate their staff on what their fees are for, or they need someone be there present or not to sign the paperwork. Another note, I bought the car from Michigan and these guys were the sole dealer servicing it for the last three years since I moved to area, why would they try to rip off an existing loyal customer? Also with the fact that I brought my friends to buy cars from them and one recently did. I can’t find words to describe my feelings. More
