After representations were made that the car had nothing wrong with it, I made an appointment to see the car for possible purchase. I had a credit score of 847, preapproved financing & a good down payment. They treated me like I was a teenager with bad credit, no down payment & questionable income (I am 65yo). They also treated me like they had me because I had traveled from out of state. When I decided to purchase the car, they came back requesting an additional down payment and they raised my interest rate by 2 points. They claimed that it was the bank’s decision. The bank denies it stating that it was the dealers doing. In dealing with the staff, I found that they knew less about cars and financing than I did. They consistently lied and misrepresented, assuming I didn’t know what I knew. I reluctantly made the deal. They had me pay all registration fees and sales tax. A couple of weeks later they advised me that they were unable to complete the registration and I would have to do it myself. They sent me the title work without the money to complete the registration. They said I had to register the car and show proof before they would release the funds. This forced me to pay these fees and taxes twice. After completing and showing proof the returned my funds short by approximately $135. I was communicating with the owner of the dealership and he claims the shortage was mailed. It has been 6 weeks +. No check and I have been put on ignore. The entire transaction left me with a negative feeling every time I looked at the car so I paid off the loan and traded in the car. I took a $5K+ loss. More
