Finance person at dealership hurt me by "maxing residuals" Firstly, I have 4 cars with Toyota and have been with Toyota of Bayside for more than 6 years. Anthony Cruz was very nice to my family and treated me Firstly, I have 4 cars with Toyota and have been with Toyota of Bayside for more than 6 years. Anthony Cruz was very nice to my family and treated me with a great deal of respect. But, all things can't be perfect. Problem #1: I asked for 1 credit inquiry for a 2 car deal, 1 purchase (after lease) and 1 new lease. I was told there would have to be 2 inquiries, which I said ok to. Instead, I got 5 credit inquires. This is upsetting because inquiries stay for 3 years on the credit report. I was told that the 5 inquiries were to "get me a better deal". I speculate (and therefore strongly believe) that the 5 credit inquiries were indeed done to keep the price as low as possible BUT I also feel that the 5 inquiries were done to also "max the residuals" the dealership gets. Problem #2: My monthly payment is too high. I was given a $799 lease per month on a 2019 Limited Platinum Sienna with 5K down. The car price was 51K. The payment should have been between $629-$709 according to others in the field. I feel that I may have been taken advantage of because I am a doctor of children with autism and they may have felt I have good income despite my low 660 credit score. As much as I liked interacting with Anthony Cruz, I will not be going back to this dealership because of the treatment of the finance office. I thought Greeks are supposed to take care of their own? After this lease is up, I'll be choosing another Toyota dealership or maybe choosing another type of car, maybe Land Rover. Very sorry that this happened. Dr. Michael Lafasakis Toyota Lover More

They worked with us as we hemmed and hawed over what model and remained patient while checking other dealers. They weren't the 'typical' pushy dealers you hear out there. Gilbert our salesman responded to my questions about the different vehicles we were looking at. When the decision was made Randy was the man that made things happen. We felt very well taken care of and do hope that feeling continues throughout our first lease. If it does, we have no problem coming back to get another Toyota.
