My husband and I currently lease a Toyota corolla from My husband and I currently lease a Toyota corolla from Star Toyota in Bayside, Queens. We also finance a Matrix FROM STAR TOYOTA. A few weeks ago My husband and I currently lease a Toyota corolla from Star Toyota in Bayside, Queens. We also finance a Matrix FROM STAR TOYOTA. A few weeks ago we went into Star to discuss trading in our financed Matrix for a new lease on a Corolla. At first our salesman was very friendly. After telling him what we were looking for in terms of monthly payments and the fact that we'd like our Matrix to be our down payment he began the process of quoting us on the value of our Matrix. After about 30-40 minutes he came to us with a stunning quote. He told us our car was worth about $4000 and therefor we would have to put a significant amout of money down and our monthly payment would be much higher than we wanted. The reason my husband and I were shocked by this was because we had just left STAR HYUNDAI in Bayside where our car was quoted at $8000! When we told our salesman about our Hyundai quote he looked very surprised and left the room again to speak with the manager. He quickly came back and this is what he said to us verbatim "I spoke with my manager and he said he wont do better than this. I asked him if I can let you leave and he said yes." Needless to say we felt as though we were KICKED OUT of Star Toyota after they tried to lie about the value of our car. The fact that at the time we had TWO cars with their company meant nothing to them. I have never had such a bad experience in any place of business in my life. After leaving Star we went straight to another Toyota dealership. They quoted our car at about $8000 and we are now driving our new corolla. More
