I purchased my vehicle from Sterling Buick GMC in Opelousas, but after this experience, I will not return for service or purchase another vehicle there. What should have been a simple warranty repair for a nail in my tire turned into a multi-day ordeal. I arrived around 8:00 a.m. because my tire pressure was dropping and the tire had a nail in it. We paid for a tire warranty, so I went to the dealership rather than a tire shop. I explained that my daughter and I were trying to leave for New Orleans that morning. Dylan in service was excellent throughout the entire process, and I want to make that very clear. He communicated with me, kept me updated and genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, while attempting to repair the tire, I was told that the dealership’s equipment damaged it beyond repair. They did not have a replacement tire available, and Dylan had to wait for management to tell him what could be done. After waiting for quite some time, I eventually had to interrupt a management meeting myself to explain that I had arrived with a repairable tire and now had a damaged tire because of their equipment. I was eventually given a loaner vehicle, but by that point it was around 11:00 a.m. The following day, I was told the replacement tire had arrived and that my vehicle would be worked on. I waited all day for a promised update and never received one. At 4:58 p.m., I called and discovered service had essentially left for the day without contacting me. My vehicle was not ready until Friday afternoon. Then came the issue with the loaner. My own vehicle had a full tank of gas when I brought it in. The loaner was given to me with approximately half a tank. I had already added gas to it while expecting my vehicle to be ready the previous day, and after two days of inconvenience caused by the dealership, I refused to continue spending money on the loaner. I was then told they would charge the card they had on file for the gas. After everything that had happened, that was completely unacceptable. I called back and spoke with another service employee who knew the entire situation. She told me a supervisor would call me. No one did. Then, after I finally got my vehicle home, my husband noticed that my rim had also been damaged. Thankfully, another longtime employee at Sterling was very helpful when my husband returned with the vehicle. He remembered seeing me there that first day, understood exactly what had happened, and helped arrange for the rim to be repaired. Even that repair, which I was told would take approximately 20–30 minutes, took over an hour. The most frustrating part of this experience is that Sterling has some genuinely good employees. Dylan was wonderful, and the gentleman who later helped with the rim was also very helpful. But good employees cannot make up for poor communication, lack of urgency from management and the way this situation was handled after the dealership damaged my vehicle. Mistakes happen. Equipment can damage something. That is not the part that determines whether a customer comes back. It is how a business handles the mistake afterward. Sterling lost my business because of how this was handled. Update: 10/7/2026 I've been in contact with corporate and they want a copy of the work order. Unfortunately, when the loaner guy tried to make me stay while they washed the car, I said no I'm ready to get out of here and was not given the paperwork. This all started on 9/17/2026. I have emailed Hunter Perry 3 times 10/2, 10/5, and 10/6 for that paperwork and still have not received it. Update 10/9: I still have not heard from Hunter. However, yesterday I received a text and an email about a bill for $386.41. The text says "Service on your vehicle is complete. Amount due $386.41." The email said nothing, just a bill attached. I sent them an email at 2:34 inquiring about this and have not received a response. More
