After purchasing a warranty from Stevenson-Hendricks Honda in Wilmington, NC, we thought canceling it and receiving a pro-rated refund would be a breeze. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t! Despite multiple calls and emails, we faced endless delays and excuses. It’s shocking how accountability disappears when you need it the most. Instead of resolving our issue, they called to sell us a new car! This experience has shown me that we must demand accountability in every transaction. Detailed Summary • Initial Delay: Wife requested the warranty cancellation on May 29, 2025 (a week after the accident on May 22), it took until June 9 after I had to contact them and was fortunate to speak to Shane, the F&I manager, to send the necessary documents via DocuSign. • Lack of Follow-Through: Despite assurances on June 16 that the refund check was in the mail, it still hadn’t arrived by June 26. The manager’s failure to call back as promised and the unexpected requirement for a payoff letter (because the warranty payment was applied to the deal as a whole) added to the frustration. • Tone-Deaf Sales Call: The dealership’s attempt to sell my wife a vehicle while failing to resolve the refund issue is infuriating and shows a lack of awareness or accountability.
