STEER CLEAR of this service department, which is only concerned about selling and up-selling service, and completely unconcerned with customer convenience. First, I stopped-in to get a replacement sun visor for my under-warranty vehicle (the visor's internal spring had broken). The service rep would not take 30 seconds to look at my visor to confirm it was broken--said I had to make an appointment, but that it was a stocked item. This was a bit frustrating, because I would now have to take time off of work, but I also needed an oil change, so I made an appointment for a week later. I arrived a week later (on a Friday), taking time off of work, for my 7:45 AM oil change (and for them to confirm that my sun visor was broken). The first thing the rep did was try to upsell hundreds of dollars of ridiculous service to me. I stood firm on my basic oil change. Then, my car sat in the intake area for an hour before they even moved it into the shop. Tell me, how is it that they got so backed-up so early in the day? It then took another 30-45 minutes for them to change the oil. So, it took 1 hr and 45 minutes to accomplish an oil change for which I had a first-thing appointment. They said they had to order the visor (which they had previously said was a stocked item), but that it should be in Mon--or Tues the latest, and that they would e-mail and call me. I ensured they had the correct contact info. At 5 PM on Thursday I still hadn't heard anything, so I called them and left a voice message (because they did not answer their phone). They called me back about 30 minutes later to let me know that my visor was in. Because I was leaving town on Friday, I stopped-in to the department personally, with my screwdriver in hand...in case they were unable to take the 60 seconds required to swap the sun visor. At first, they insisted that I make an appointment for the service. Really?? I'm going to take another 2+ hours off of work so they can perform 60 seconds of work on my car?? I insisted that they do it immediately or let me do it--that I had a screwdriver and was quite capable. They said they would do it immediately. An hour later I got my car back (for 60 seconds of work), and only after strongly insisting I needed it "NOW" so I could catch my flight. I had gotten an oil change there about 3 months prior, with similar attempts to upsell needless service to me, and with similar disregard to the value of my time. They never offered an apology or an explanation for their sub-par service. So, I will NEVER use this dealer again. My two late-model Hyundais and I will be going elsewhere. More
As a first time byer, I didn't expect to walk into this dealership with nothing to put down and walk away with an almost brand new car! It's not just a great car but the warrenty that comes with it makes me feel more confident in knowing if something happened I'm covered. I've been to other dealerships but this is the best service I've seen all around. I would recommend that anyone looking for a car visit Ms. Cookie at Capital Hyundai of Columbia even if you're ” just looking” you may find your dream car. :) More
We would recommend this dealer to anyone! We went to to other dealer within the last 4 months. Between the 2 dealers they ended up pulling my credit report 12 times. The 2nd dealer came back with an approv other dealer within the last 4 months. Between the 2 dealers they ended up pulling my credit report 12 times. The 2nd dealer came back with an approval, but wanted to talk to the bank on Monday to get the 3k more that we needed. They never called me back. Capitol Hyundai worked with us and new our situation. This is our 2nd experience with them and I could not be more impressed! The price of the car was great and the entire process was smooth. They even called back when they got a better deal with a 2nd bank. More

I was hesitant to buy my 2011 Mercedes from a Hyundai dealership...glad I did! My family puts lots of miles on cars so we switch a lot. We have had 15 luxury cars from Lexus - Mercedes over the past 5 years. I have been burned before with bad service or a car that had paint and body work not disclosed. This was not the case with this dealership or car. There was one minor problem and they fixed it with a smile. Would buy from again! More

I was in need of a car after my car was declared a total loss. I had really high car payments in the past, and did not want to experience that a second time. So I went to Capital just to look around. While on the lot several sales people looked at me but never spoke. I liked that at first since I was just looking. But as time passed I thought to myself "they are looking for the big fish". But then Ty walked out with a huge smile and greeted me. Ty was a young guy and seemed to be new. Ty asked me questions about my past car, and what I was looking for in my next car. What Impressed me most is he repeated back a lot of what I had told him. This kid actually is listening to me, great sign! I left and a few days past and I went to Dick Smith Nissan to see what they had. Bad Service is what they had. The sales guy first question was "how much do you want to put down, and what's your credit like?" At that point I knew I was not buying another Nissan, at least not at that location. So I thought about Ty and decided to return for just a little look around, again. Once again guys standing at the door not speaking again. So I went inside this time. The lady at the desk was on the phone and gave me a quick look and continued to finish assisting whom ever she was helping. All these sales guys are everywhere but not asking me any questions at all. So I walked out into the parking lot and pulled Ty's card out and called him. Ty hit the lot minutes later and we picked up from where we left off from my last visit. When I had questions that he didn't know the answers too he said so, and said he would ask someone who knew and get me the answers. Ty turned a bad experience into a great experience twice. Then Dinky kicked in and did his thing, super fast. That guy "dinky" is a superstar on that team and Capital better know it. At Capital they gave me great advise, let me pick my own car, made me feel confident that the banks would work the deal the way I wanted it, and then delivered a 100% in all areas. I got a car that I love more and more each day. And peace of mind that I can afford to pay for it. My advise to the older cats waiting around for that big fish to pull up on the lot looking like a big fish. Take a few lessons from the new kid and speak and introduce yourselves to every customer! I rated Capital all 5's because Ty, and Dinky made me feel like a customer that they want to continue to see 3 years from now when I trade in my 2013 for a 2016!!!! More
Cookie took really good care of me. She even followed up about 30 days after I bought the Jeep just to make sure everything was ok. She was courteous and polite through the whole process. I was very pleased with the overall experience working with Cookie. She is one of the best salespersons I have ever encountered. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the sales manager to the service department. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a Hyundai to them over the other dealerships we visited in this car search. More
