This was a great experience, especially while buying the first car. When all the other dealerships were charging high markups, Stockton Hyundai not only didn’t charge any markup but also gave a dealership d first car. Bought Kona new, had to return it, wrong vehicle. Dealership was good about it, but the paperwork and approvals wasn't fun. Wound up with vehicle we wanted, very happy with it. At the beginning of last week, I found a 2021 Palisade SEL at Stockton Hyundai, for $39,995. (I have a printout of the listing.) I contacted the dealer to confirm that the car was in stock and that was th SEL at Stockton Hyundai, for $39,995. (I have a printout of the listing.) I contacted the dealer to confirm that the car was in stock and that was the price listed. I spoke to a Kandi who confirmed it was in stock and that was the price. I then proceeded to tell Kandi that I wanted to purchase this unit, but as I do not live local to the dealer, would not be able to arrive until the following Saturday, and to please put a hold on the vehicle for me. She said that she would send links to get things started. I received an email with the links to start the financing process for the car, filled them out, and submitted them, believing that when I arrived Saturday afternoon, the vehicle would be awaiting me. I received a phone call on Friday, from a Stephen, confirming the appointment, followed by a text message the next morning. After a three hour drive, I arrived at Stockton Hyundai. Stephen was busy with another customer, so another agent assisted me. He informed me that the car I had originally found was not in stock, and they have not had a unit matching that description in for some time. He then informed me that they believed that I had been after another '21 Palisade SEL, in blue and the winter package. I had asked about this one, but only after indicating the white one was what I was interested in, and did not follow up when the blue unit's price was higher. Next, he informed me that they had sold the blue Palisade a few days prior, and that they did not hold un-purchased vehicles for customers. He then attempted to offer me a similar '22 Palisade, as they had no '21s left on the lot. I feel this is a classic bait-and-switch. Not only was the white unit clearly listed for the price, but it was confirmed over the phone. At no time prior to my arrival on Saturday, was I informed that this unit was not in stock, that the Blue unit they claimed I was after had been sold, or that they did not hold vehicles for customers. I came in to buy a used Toyota they just got in. They accommodated me, had it ready and let me drive it around a bit after taking time to check it over. Didn't pressure me. Price was decent, I know the m accommodated me, had it ready and let me drive it around a bit after taking time to check it over. Didn't pressure me. Price was decent, I know the market for Toyota tacomas is crazy. Made a good effort to get me great financing on a used truck for the difference after my down payment. All in all, great experience. Took a while but I kinda just got in there in between their other customers. Everyone there seemed happy and the customers seemed relaxed. I would buy from again. They understood what I was there for and didn't give me any hassles. More
Be very very careful on your contract, they add in "OPTIONAL" things & do not disclose that to you clearly. The extended warranty through ALLY does NOT begin after the car's factory warranty expires "OPTIONAL" things & do not disclose that to you clearly. The extended warranty through ALLY does NOT begin after the car's factory warranty expires it runs CONCURRENT which is basically double warranty that you will NEVER use. VERY VERY UNHAPPY about being totally ripped off! We specifically ASKED if the extended WARRANTY would begin after expiration of the FACTORY WARRANTY and ABDUL AKBARI said, "YES" we were lied to and that is just extremely reprehensible! More
