Now that warranty has expired, beware of service department. A couple weeks ago, my hatchback on my 2021 Rogue got stuck in the up position. Would not come down except by force. Service department said I needed a new hatch assembly and shocks for about $6,000. I had also been having an issue with my fuel gauge not ever going to FULL when filling up. They diagnosed it as needing a new fuel tank assembly for $2,400. Yikes! I the guy I dealt with in the service department was named Price. He was very nice and explained things to me as best he could. He didn't blame me for wanting to get a second opinion. He also tried to get the mechanic to come out and talk to me but he never did. Fast forward to visiting a local independent mechanic. He "reset" my hatchback somehow and that seems to be all it needed. He didn't replace anything and it's working fine now. Saved me $6K! He also thinks the gas gauge issue is something else and it does not need a whole new fuel tank. We'll see if that does the trick. Not sure if this is necessarily malicious uncharging but rather just really lazy work and not fully investigating the issue. I don't think I'll be back Stone Mountain Nissan. I was considering trading in with them but I won't be doing that now either. More
