Met with our salesman to learn what he had to offer. There was no Forester Premium on the lot. He showed us a sticker from one available at another location. It was more than we were interested in so we told him we would let him know if we were interested in that car when we got home. We decided to purchase that car and I called him to let him know we would like to purchase that car and would be in with a deposit in the next day or so. As we were sitting doing the paperwork for the purchase I noticed the VIN he was using was different than the car we had decided to purchase. He then advised me that the car we decided on had been sold. He had an optional vehicle that he was writing up for us to purchase. I asked for a copy of the sticker, which he provided. After considering our options we decided to purchase the substitute vehicle, which was also off site. We went to p/u the vehicle and the salesman accompanied us while we drove it, explaining some of the features. He asked for the owners manual from the glove compartment and started telling us about how some of the options functioned. After we got home we saw that the manuals were for a “Touring” model. I called the salesman about the discrepancy and he said he would see about getting us the correct manual. He later said there was none available and would order one for us and we would have it in five to seven business days. When that time expired I called him and he said it was on back order. Some time later he advised me that a pdf was available but I advised him that I wanted a hard copy. Somewhere along the line a manager got involved and I agreed to have the pdf sent until the hard copy came in. After being advised that I would receive the pdf in a specific time frame, I had to make a number of follow-up calls before actually receiving it. More
