After reading all the great reviews on Stohlman Subaru of Herndon, I was happy to find a dealership so well rated that was close. We relocated to the area very recently (almost a month now) so this was my fi Herndon, I was happy to find a dealership so well rated that was close. We relocated to the area very recently (almost a month now) so this was my first and last experience with them. I brought my 2006 Subaru Tribeca in for an RDF light blinking on and off and after doing some research I was pretty sure the ground had come loose or rusted. Therefore, when I was told I needed a new wiring harness for it but the senor was still good I gave them the ok to do the work but told them I wanted the bad harness back. After a few minutes went by, the service manager came back to tell me the harness was ok and they just needed to replace the ground and it would be $183. This triggered another warning light in my head. I thought it was high so I called another dealer and was given a quote of $120 for the same job. For the convenience, I had them also do the VA state inspection on the car so I could register it. To my surprise, it failed. Now, I had just had it at my mechanic in Ohio before moving so I knew what the car needed and did not need. Stohlman said I needed tires, rear brakes, and that a fog lamp was out. I did not agree with this so I called (703)803-2622 and spoke with the VA State Police who had an officer call me back and then told me where to meet him at another garage. This time the officer and the mechanic did the inspection while I was there and showed me all the readings that they found. The tires were ok and would need replacement soon but passed (They checked all four this time). Next were the brakes. They pulled them off the calipers to measure front and rear pads and what do you know…they passed. Last was the fog light, which we all agreed was out and needed replacing. After buying a new bulb and preparing to install it, I found that the ground wire was disconnected from the light. An easy fix but how did it get disconnected? The cherry on the cake was discovering that Stohlman Subaru of Herndon broke my center cap on the tire rim when they did the inspection. However, they did replace it after another phone call to them. In the end, Stohlman was contacted by the VA State police and have been reprimanded for the improper inspection. If you feel you are being misled or taken advantage of by Stohlman Subaru of Herndon, I would recommend contacting the VA State police. Doing so saved me well over $1,000.00 in unnecessary repairs. My main reason for this post is due to the poor customer service on Stohlman’s part. I did not receive any sort of apology or attempt to rectify the situation or make things right, which tells me that they really do not care about their customers. More

I had been researching 2014 Outbacks for a couple months leading to the purchase and came in kno that I stumbled on to Stohlman's Subaru in Herndon. I had been researching 2014 Outbacks for a couple months leading to the purchase and came in knowing exactly what I wanted. Bob and Gus were a pleasure to work with and everything went smoothly all the way through the installation of accessories after the deal was done. The price was incredibly straightforward and offered me the best deal I could find for a 2014 Outback. They were also very grateful for my military service and if I'm still stationed in the area when I look to purchase a new car, I will be going out of my way to work with Stohlman's Subaru in Herndon. I have been taking my 2008 Subaru Legecy to this dealership for service since I moved to this area in 2009. The service area is excellent and the staff are friendly and efficient.(they call me by n dealership for service since I moved to this area in 2009. When time came to purchase a new vehicle (already decided on a 2014 Subaru Forester), I naturally went to Stohlman Subaru!!! The salesman - Fernando Avila, was most helpful in guiding me through the process.- very low key and patient with me. (I know I asked the same question several times) .He explained everything to me about the accessories that I wanted and found the right model to suit all my requirements. They did not have the exact one I wanted, so Fernando searched and found one for me.To make a long story short.... I am so happy with my new vehicle and the entire purchase process. Thank you so much - Stohlman Subaru..... I will be back!!! More
I had a very good experience at Herndon Subaru. I paid Gus exactly what I wanted to pay for my new car. I also was able to sell my old car for the price that I wanted. I drove by the dealership and saw a used car I was interested in. When I got home I called the dealership and spoke with Iman. I was working on a limited budget and he went the extra mile to make sure the deal would happen and that I was completely satisfied. I went to approximatley 5 dealers beforehand and he was the one who came thru in a professional manner and a low pressure sales approach. Thank you so much. More
My dealership experience was EXCELLENT. I was primarily helped by 2 people: Gus (manager) and Raj (sales consultant). Raj took me out on a test drive and answered all my questions. He made sure the car was washed and looking spotless for me to drive off the next day. Can't say enough good things about Raj!!! Gus was great too. He responded to my original request and guided me through the pricing. Overall, this dealership is excellent and I plan on visiting this dealership in a year or two to buy my next subaru. More

I just bought a 2013 XV Crosstrek yesterday, and I am very content. I only had 3 previous dealership experiences prior to the on at Stohlman, so I don't claim to be anyone with in-depth knowledge of the very content. However, all I can say is this was easily the best experience I ever had purchasing a car. I was looking at cars on the Subaru website on a Sunday night and requested a quote from the "build it" utility. Received an reply message from Rajan, or "Raj," the following day with a selection of similar cars to the one I built. I was able to stop by late Tuesday for test drive. Raj was respectful, informative, and never pushy in any way--apparently, he is famous on the interweb--glowing reviews littered everywhere. [Enter Gus] Crunched some numbers afterward, given the finance special, and everything looked really good , really fair. Numbers did not change and I drove it home the following night, thinking "I should write a glowing Yelp review in the near future." More

I was previously familiar with the dealer as my close friend used to have his vehicle serviced there, but I had not dealt directly with them. I was blown away with their level of customer service. The experience I had working with Koffi, Gus, and Iman was totally opposite of my previous experiences with car dealerships. I was sure to compliment them on the fantastic service that they provided and both Gus and Koffi acknowledged that because they are a small dealership in an 'uncommon' location (not a big auto-park) they pride themselves on treating their customer's well. They understand the value of loyalty. On top of the wonderful customer service experience, they were also able to work with me to get the car I was interested in into my price range so I ended up with a great deal too! I would highly reccommend working with Stohlman Subaru in Herndon if you are in the market for a new or used Subaru (or any used vehicle for that matter). Do not be discouraged by their small size, they value your business far more than larger dealerships possibly could. More
