Stohlman of Herndon was a wonderful dealership to work with. The car I originally wanted was sold before my bank could get my financing together. Instead of saying, "sorry, better luck next time", Raj a More

In February 2010, I went here shopping for a new Subaru Forester, and came pretty close to buying one from them. But, after I figured out that their price was too high, I bought a Forester in Maryland. R More

Dear Argussupply, We would like the opportunity to address your concern and see where the wires got crossed. Have you contacted anyone at the Herndon store at Subaru Motor Finance yet? While this scenario could be a dealership issue, it may also have happened at Subaru Motor Finance and not at the dealership level. Either way, we are happy to track down the problem and help get it rectified for you. Please contact me directly and I will get the right parties involved to get the problem resolved. Sincerely, Tom Guzulaitis Internet Director Stohlman Automotiver 703-770-6162

Tom, Any help you can provide would be great. I've contacted TransUnion, and Equifax, and Chase Auto Finance to contest the erroneous account, but have been unable to get any action as of yet. I'm pretty sure your customers name and address is also appearing on my credit report. I was going to give him a call to warn him about the issue. His info on my report is: Scott M. Baker; 21929 Myrtlewood Square in Sterling, VA. I am requesting that this erroneous information be removed from my credit report and that a letter be provided to me stating how this error happened and confirming that the loan is not mine. I am truly upset and disappointed that this has happened. Good credit is important, and I do not appreciate Subaru making erroneous entries in my name. Scott Garland

Scott, thanks for responding. I am looking into it, it could take a little time but we're on it. Do you see an account number on your credit report corresponding to this entry on your report? When you purchased your car in MD, did you get a loan with Subaru? If so is it listed on your credit report as well or just the one for Scott Baker? I may need additional details or to have Chase contact you. would there be a good # for me to use for this purpose? Thank you, Tom Guzulaitis 703-770-6162

Yes, it only lists a partial account number (1100421646****). The date opened was February 15, 2010, and the amount financed was $21,983. Since its not actually my loan, I do not have the full account number. Yes, I got a loan from Subaru/Chase for my MD purchase. It is listed on my credit report also, but I've paid it off. Chase has all of my contact information, and I have faxed them copies of the relevant pages from my credit report. If someone at Chase Auto Finance wants to speak with me, I will be happy to call them back. I'm not comfortable providing you with any more personal information, since the information I gave your dealership in February 2010 resulted in an erroneous loan for $21,983 appearing on my credit report.

Scott, Scott, Good news, I believe we have found the source of the confusion and we are working with Subaru Motor Finance to get things straightened out for you. It may take a few days to have it all corrected, but the end result will be Mr Baker's loan will be on his report and removed from yours. If you would like further details feel free to call me directly. Have a good afternoon. Tom Guzulaitis 703-770-6162

Today I received a letter from Equifax stating that Subaru/Chase had provided information that caused Equifax to verify again that Mr. Baker's loan is assigned to my credit. I thought you were going to help me resolve this error? Now I'm thinking that I will have to obtain an attorney to get this problem resolved. Using my credit information to finance another customer's loan has to be illegal.

Subaru of Sterling responded

Mr Garland, First off, I am sorry this continues to be a drain on your time and energy. Let me assure you your information was never used to fund the loan of Mr Baker. Mr Baker's loan was approved solely with his credit. Mr Baker's funding package had one small barcode with an approval code for you on it that we erroneously sent to Chase when we were funding Mr Baker's loan. None of your personal information was transferred to Chase in the funding package other than the barcode approval. Chase did not double check it, so it was not caught and as a result the loan shows up on your credit report. Mr Baker has been contacted and has in turn contacted Chase to remedy his side of the issue. I believe the last thing needed at this point is for you to contact Chase - as they cannot talk to us about the issue directly. Please contact Davione Pender at 866-401-9741 and please let me know if you are able to resolve with Chase. I would like to know the outcome either way so we can get this finally resolved for you. Sincerely, Tom Guzulaitis 703-770-6162

I contacted Chase again today and spoke with Patrick Brown (800-592-9861). He said that he will help me to resolve this issue, but I have been promised that before. I also called Mr. Baker today and left a message for him. I'm glad to hear that he is also aware of the problem. This issue has negatively effected my credit for nearly two years without me being aware of it. I was hoping to see it quickly resolved after my efforts on October 24, 2011. Since it was not, and Chase continues to insist I am responsible for Mr. Bakers loan, I am now exploring all of my options.

Subaru of Sterling responded

Mr Garland, I just wanted to let you know that I am still attempting to assist in resolving this issue and have had multiple conversations with SMF/Chase to get it resolved. I will keep you abreast of any updates I may receive. I hope at long last we will soon see some positive progress. Tom Guzulaitis 703-770-6162

Subaru of Sterling responded

Scott, Chase should now have all the information sorted out and be working toward a resolution in the very near future. I am sure they will reach out to you once they have it straightened out, but please feel free to contact me in the event you do not hear from them next week so I can follow up on my side as well. Have a pleasant weekend, Tom Guzulaitis 703-770-6162
