My daughter made an appointment and brought her 2024 Hyundai Venue (16,000 miles) to Suburban Hyundai of Troy on August 4, 2025, for its second oil change and tire rotation — both covered under Hyundai’ Hyundai Venue (16,000 miles) to Suburban Hyundai of Troy on August 4, 2025, for its second oil change and tire rotation — both covered under Hyundai’s 3-year complimentary maintenance program. Unfortunately, this visit turned into a blatant upsell attempt and resulted in hundreds of dollars in unnecessary charges. Here’s what happened: • The service advisor, Christopher May, claimed there was a dangerous sidewall bulge in one tire and insisted it needed immediate replacement for $250. He did not show us the bulge or specify which tire was “unsafe.” She refused the tire replacement. Later, both outside and inside sidewalls on all four tires were inspected, and no tire bulges were detected. • He, or the technician, entered on the repair order that the windshield wipers were “streaking and chattering” and wanted $130 for new blades — completely false. We have had no wiper issues since the car was new, and this was refused • He pushed an engine air filter for $81.62 (not needed until 32,000 miles per Hyundai’s schedule) and a cabin air filter (due now) and A/C "cleaning" (never recommended) for $106.59. Both filters are simple DIY jobs with $10–$20 parts. She refused these as well. What we were charged for anyway: • $35 for a tiny bottle of a BG fuel additive (completely unnecessary and not recommended by Hyundai). No engine performance issues were reported. • $28.25 for a BG oil additive (Hyundai’s manual explicitly warns: “Never add any additives to the engine oil.”). • $89.95 for a wheel balance and tire rotation (rotation should have been free under Hyundai’s free maintenance program). No wheel balance issues were reported or noted. • $139.95 for an unnecessary wheel alignment (their own inspection showed only one of 14 readings slightly out of spec; no issues were reported by us). Total unnecessary charges: $333.51 for a visit that should have cost nothing under Hyundai’s maintenance program. This is deceptive and predatory. It undermines customer trust and violates the spirit of Hyundai’s complimentary maintenance. If you care about honesty and fair dealing, avoid Suburban Hyundai of Troy. Regardless, know that most every Service Advisor and Technician at nearly every dealership is paid on commission. They are not your friend, irrespective of how friendly and caring they may seem. Like Chris, they are incentivized to sell owners more services (and at higher prices) than they actually need. This is universal in the industry, More
This is the second new car that I have purchased in last 6 months. Both of them were purchased through Landan at Suburban. The first purchase experience was so quick and easy, that I told him that I would be 6 months. Both of them were purchased through Landan at Suburban. The first purchase experience was so quick and easy, that I told him that I would be back. Just purchased my 2nd car 1 week ago and as promised I came back to him. He offered no sales pitches, everything he quoted was accurate and no hidden fees and at time of closing everything he stated was exactly the same with no surprises. To be Honest, I went in to buy a Hyundai because I lover their products and prices, but in addition to that dealing with Landan is the next important reason I came back in. I have a Hyundai dealership 4 miles away from me and I instead drove over 20 miles out of my way to come back to Surburban and Landan. I most likely will need to buy another car this year, and it will be with Landan. More
Amazing! Dino was literally the best car salesman we’ve ever had. He honored all the conversations we had by sticking to what he said, and when I went in to get the car he made the entire process very smooth and easy. He helped me the entire time, from answering questions I had while on the phone with my car insurance to helping me clean out my old car into my new car- honestly, I can’t say enough good things about Dino. We will most definitely be releasing with Hyundai BECAUSE of him and the wonderful car he got us into! More

I brought in my 2013 Hyundai Elantra, got like 130,000 miles on it. It had a recall for a brake fuse. Chris gave my car the white glove treatment. You would've thought I had just brought in a 2025 Hyundai miles on it. It had a recall for a brake fuse. Chris gave my car the white glove treatment. You would've thought I had just brought in a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe EV for service. No matter how new or how old your car is, Chris is gonna look out for ya & treat ya right. Hopefully, if I can ever afford a new Hyundai Sante Fe, I don't know where I'll buy it, but I know where I'll take it for service: Chris @ Suburban Hyundai. They good people's over there. Holla @ my guy Chris for all of your Hyundai or even if you don't own a Hyundai, holla @ him anyway. He'll probably fix whatever make & model vehicle you drive. More

Been waiting almost a month for my registration. Texted my salesman a week ago-no response. Spoke to him today and was told it was in the mail and I should have it in a few days. Then I told him the Secretary of State did NOT have the vehicle registered to me. He said he would look into it and call me in 20 minutes. That was more than 5 hours ago. Very poor service for something I paid for. More

He was so friendly every step of the way and made shopping for a car surprisingly enjoyable and stress free. Everyone else I interacted with at the dealership was so welcoming and friendly as well. Definitely give them a visit! More
