Real customer focused dealership My Toyota Camry was totaled in a car accident. Although, I liked my Camry I did not want to buy another Toyota. There was no particular car that I wanted more than others. So, I set my requirements including price. While looking for the cars on my list I was driving a rented Passat. Passat was out of my price range and not on my list of possible cars. I stopped in this dealership as I was curious to find out whether a brand new Passat was equally loud as the one I drove. When Marcus Kohout approached me, I was truthful about the purpose of my visit and was adamant that I’m not a buyer. I spend much time driving so comfort and features I needed in Passat came with too high price. Marcus was knowledgeable and pleasant not only about VW, but also about other cars that I was looking into. But, most importantly he was kind and treated me with respect as if I were the most valuable buyer. So, I decided if I was ever to buy VW, I’ll buy in Suncoast Motorsports and work with Marcus. Several days later, I drove all the cars from my list and neither matched my requirements completely. Running out of options and wanting to get out of a rental car, I stopped at Suncoast Motorsports again looking for Marcus. I knew that his goal was to sell me the car. But, I also trusted that it was not his only goal. Marcus is not a car salesperson. He is a customer relationship representative. He didn’t want to make one sale; he wanted to earn my business. So, I felt good about discussing temporary solution with him. Once again, we both knew I’m not a buyer. I’m just a window shopper. Once again, Marcus treated me with respect as if I were his most valuable customer. So, when following day advertisement for the right priced Passat popped up on my computer screen at another dealership, I sent information to Marcus. He matched the price and I drove the car that evening. In all my previous purchases I’ve spent over 4 hours in dealership. In Suncoast Motorsports, I spent just over an hour. I spent 10 minutes with Erik Francey, Finance & Insurance Manager, signing all the papers and receiving my new registration card. (The matching license plate magically appeared on the car.) The rest of the time I spent with Marcus in my new car. He introduced me to all of my new car feature, helped me set default value to my car computer and register with car-connect. Wow! That was an unmatched experience and true customer service. They didn’t just take my money and run. They gave me a car and kept me there until I learned how to enjoy its many top notch features while driving in safely. Needless to say, I would recommend this dealership to everybody. Thank you Marcus, Erik, and especially VW Brand manager Cranston Scott for running Suncoast Motorsports in such a customer focused manner. More
